I would like to welcome our newest contributer to Volnation, Brent Dougherty. Below is a little bio I took from the WLAC website.

BRENT DOUGHERTY

Brent Dougherty hails from the great state of Tennessee. Born in Tullahoma and raised in Nashville, he knows the Nashville Market. Brent is a graduate of Nashville's Hillsboro High School and University of Tennessee Knoxville with his BS in Communications. Since starting in the radio business in early 1997, Brent has enjoyed many experiences in just about every aspect of radio, and was the producer for the Sports Scene on WLAC from 1997 until February of 2000 when he spent a short time on the WLAC sales staff, before returning to his passion, the broadcasting side of the microphone.


Brent's Broadcasting Highlights include:



- Produced a sports talk show on the 50,000 watt 1510 WLAC.

- interviewed such notable sports figures as Don Mattingly, Peyton Manning, Steve McNair Steve Spurrier, etc...

-Hosted an afternoon drive sports talk show in Knoxville, TN 2002...

-Returned to produce and co-host sports talk show in Nashville, back on 1510 WLAC in 2004.

-Host Prime Time Sports M-F 5P-8P 2004 - present.

-Fill in as sports reporter for The House Foundation on The Big 98 WSIX

-Covered the 1997, 2001, 2004 and 2006 SEC Championship Games

-Covered the 1999 Super Bowl

-Covered the 1998 and 1999 Fiesta Bowls

-Covered SEC Spring Meetings in San Destin Fl. 3 years

-2005-06 John Wooden College basketball player of the year voter.

-2006-07 John Wooden College basketball player of the year voter.

-2006-07 AP Men's basketball poll voter

-2006 Heisman Trophy Voter

Brent enjoys long walks to any football stadium, dimly lit radio studios and any discussion or debate about sports. Brent has a 3 year old son that he is training to hit a curve ball and an understanding wife who is in the Real Estate Business

My son, Jack, goes to preschool with Brent's son. Brent and his family are good people and its great to have him in the nation. I enjoy his radio show in the afternoons, and I know he'll add interesting insight to this site.
