I don't know if BB was still kinda on his high horse coming into practice, being the #1 overall prospect in the country, but certainly not now. He was held out part of today with a slight concussion. I'm so glad they're lettin all these new guys get a taste of whats to come early into practice. I love ya Bryce, but you aint in Kansas anymore. Now buck up and kick some a**. Go Vols!!!

Somehow I just don't see a slight concussion being a good thing with our top recruit of the freshman class..maybe thats just me.

I don't want the kid to get seriously injured by any means, but he's gonna get hit harder than that before it's all said and done. If anything this should help his awareness and make him work that much harder. Gotta break em in somehow.

Yeah if we are going to be built on a solid run game then I'd rather him get his first taste of what it's going to be like in practice as opposed to during a game.

but you have to think BB wasn ready for a hit like that with out full pads. have to see how he runs in full pad aginst the D.... when he is ready for a hit like that

Bryce just came from high school. He hadnt had previous years of college shoulder pads and shorts practices to know what to expect. I'm sure his high school practices similar to shoulder pads and shorts wasnt as physical. if it was full pads, Bryce would have had a different mentality going into that hit

I agree 100%, I like the intensity; but I think it's BS to say "welcome to the SEC puss"....not in those exact words. I wouldn't mind it at all if they were all geared up with the proper pads. Until then, hang in there Bryce and I hope everyone makes just as big of a deal out of it once cash in on some payback. Just in case, stay far away from #14...We need you both.GO VOLS!!!!

Bottom line.....BB will be just fine. You play the game long enough, you are going to get caught every now and then! No need for "Welcome to the SEC"....I believe he knew what to expect and will respond like the player he is.

Go Vols!

yeah im on the "he probably wasnt expecting a hit when practicing in half pads" side. On the other hand that goes against two of my favorite sayings: 1 Be Prepared(lion king) and 2 Expect the unexpected.

I think we have another Brian Darden on our hands. Better cut him now before we get to much time invested in him.
