"It just felt right in my heart," Meredith said via text from the South Carolina Shrine Bowl where he will practice this week for the annual North Carolina-South Carolina all star game.
Meredith was in Knoxville last November to see the Vols beat Ole Miss. This year, Meredith took in the Vols game with Georgia and left very impressed.
"It was ridiculous. I've been to some big-time games in my life and the atmosphere was right up there with all of them," Meredith said.
Meredith is a three-star tight end and is the 6th ranked player in the state of South Carolina. Meredith is a mid-term enrollee and is expected to be at Tennessee in January.
Seems like a really good athlete. If you check his ESPN profile he has the fastest 40 time of the TE's (4.58) and is .8 inches from having the highest vertical. (35 Inches) also ranked as the 6th best in the nation at his position. With all that being said I didn't think we were needing a te in this class and again this is going to be tight. I remember last year in January we thought it was gonna be a big time numbers game cause we thought we were in on a lot more big time prospects than we really were but it worked out. This year seems to be much different. We have very few spots left and are legitimately in the running for some stellar players. I just hope we get the best guys possible in here even if some ''adjusting'' is needed. This is the most critical class of dooleys career. That being said welcome to big orange country Mr. Meredith! Go VOLS!
