Welcome Home, Mike Keith

It's an anonymous message board, some people use that to be an *******. Bob was good, not great. I was never one to bash him. I love Mike Keith, I think he can be great. I'm sure there will be some people that can't stand him. Like they say, you can't please everyone.
Right, but Keith was the choice that would please the most. I agree about Bob, good but not great, but not being great isn’t a crime. Keith annoys me sometimes but I think it’s a slam dunk hire. There will never be another John Ward, and I think fans need to stop making that comparison and hating on guys just because they aren’t him. Bama has a clown making up things about other schools and doubling down, so there are much worse play by play guys out there.

I'm excited to see what Mike comes up with, I hope he retires his "saaaaaccckkkk" or at least reserves it for crucial parts of the game. After every sack is a bit much, but even then, I ain't complaining.

Some people like chocolate. Some butter pecan. It’s OK to have different tastes and opinions. I like different takes. I’m not a big Kieth fan but I’ll learn to like him. I just hope he’ll leave saaaaaaack in Nashville.
I like announcers that show excitement. That’s why Bob was so bad. Keith is great. His enthusiasm oozes through the radio.

I think the contrast between JW and him would have been hard to deal with back in the day. Now may be a great time to pull this off. No doubt this guy is a VFL and deserves a solid honeymoon period. I am betting he gets it done.

I agree about that, I think he will bring new stuff. I think he sees this is s totally new thing so I expect a fresh approach. I remember when he did Farragut games I didn’t like the way he called touchdowns for Farragut, but I also hated Farragut, so maybe that’s what it was.

It's a bittersweet day. It's sad day as a Titans fan and a great day as a Vols fan. Ultimately I'm happy that Mike will get to be known as the Voice of both the Vols and Titans. The timeline certainly makes sense. He's had a great quarter century run with the Titans but it's more likely that a signature moment will happen with the Vols in the near future. I know the Titans catch a lot of unnecessary hate on this site but the Titans had a great message about Mike's legacy with the team.

I know Bob Kesling is not liked much by Tennessee fans. For me, he is okay. I think he just had the misfortune to follow the greatest to ever do it. In 1967, was John Ward scrutinized when he succeeded George Mooney?

If that is indeed the case it was likely fortuitous for Mike as now it won't take much to outshine his predecessor. No disrespect to Bob intended but much different circumstances for Mike than Bob.

I guess opinions are going to vary. I can only offer mine. As to Bob, he brought alot to the table in respect to the overall production of the Vol network. But as to being "the Voice"? I never could stand to listen to a full game. I was raised with John Ward. And he never could shine a light on him. I have read tributes to Kesling that, in all honesty, seemed like rehashings of what was said about Ward. And that is just about the most absurd thing I have ever seen.

No matter. Now, the era (or error) has been corrected. Though I feel Mike Keith should have been hired to replace Ward, he has the job now. And listening to games on the radio? I just might FINALLY ve be to tune into an entire broadcast once again. Looking forward to it.

OK, eating a little crow here. I never thought and posted he’d never leave the Titans, especially after the iconic Music City Miracle call. Excited for all of us as a Vols fan and supporter, it’s a great day in Tennessee!
The sun has risen and set many times since the MCM.
