This thread title cracks me up. He's coached at a half dozen colleges but because he coached DBs here from 93-94 this is his home?

You are dead wrong. Mike Hamilton has a multi racial family and the Haslams are not racist at all.

You have got to be kidding, if these guys do not get the job it's not because they are black. If Lovie will take it, he will probably get it. And Kippy will get an honest shot. Quit playing the race card, that does not help anything.

I truly don't believe this to be the case. I may be wrong here, but I don't think skin color has anything to do with who we hire. If Lovie is interested and we can't get a bigger name that we want more(Muschamp?, Stoops?, or any of the 632 other coaches we hired yesterday), I think it is his for the taking. Disclaimer: I am not in any way saying that any or all of those we hired yesterday would be better than Lovie. I am only making a snide remark about how many coaches we have given 6 and 7 year contracts worth(insert your # here) million a year to (in a state that can not by law give them any more than a 5 yr contract might I add) in the last day and a half.

because of the color of his skin. I'm not keen on Lovie. Yea, he's a name and could help save this recruiting class and he would be a big splash. I like him a lot better than troy calhoun. But long term? I'm not sold on him as a coach. The Bears want to dump him--nuff said. We need somebody with Saban-like intensity and attention to detail--somebody who knows the college game and is driven to win. Is Lovie Smith that guy? I doubt it. Also, the pro game is lots different from the college game: Most coaches who try to transition from one to the other do not succeed. That's my take...:dance2:

Heard Lovie deal is almost wrapped up!
Looks like he could be our man!!!! Hope he is ready to hit the ground running and saves a few of our recruits!!!
