This coaching search is becoming 7 degrees of seperation. If there is any link back to Tn for a coach at all his name is being thrown in as "it's done, he's here." I thought 30 minutes ago that Lovie Smith was in. Before that I thought Cutcliffe. Before that i thought Calhoun was a done deal. Seriously, does anyone honestly have any connections whatsover or is EVERRYONE just read google pages like me and throwing out anything that they see says "next coach." Somebody has to know somebody who has an actual friend who is in this process who could keep us updated. Gawd, I'm beginning to ramble.

Nobody has "connections." Everyone just reads it then immediately posts something to stir up every vol fan on here and it does work. But im not satisfied til it IS official. Tired of the BS posting.

I don't know how you guys can say Lovie would be a bad hire. Look how he improved the Rams defense and Bears defense in a short period of time. Is it his fault Chicago got Culter who his too arrogant to listent to coaches and threw 25 picks this year?

It is true. Jimmy Haslam is flying to Chicago to pick up our new head coach. Except it won't be Lovie Smith. Mike Ditka is coming home!

Bears fan here and yes he's terrible. Can't manage the clock and doesn't exhibit an ounce of energy. He lacks the ability to change the gameplan during the game. I love the cols more than the bears I hope he stays with the bears.

So today, Lovie Smith, Troy Calhoun, David Cutcliffe, and Will Muschamp have all been hired ... yeah, right.

Let's just let this process finish up.

I'd love to see this man at UT.

He's basically been screwed by a UF QB and now a Vandy QB.

He can do this job and do it well. He will recruit lights out against Saban and Urban, and Kiffin (if he had a snowball's chance of ever convincing another player to play for him).

If this is possible, make it so!

Doesn't the NCAA have any limits on how many coaches a team can have at once? They've got regulations for everything else.

I'm going to make up from scratch a good rumor about a coach, and post it in the morning. $50 says it will be posted as fact from a 'source' on TOS within 20 minutes.

This is my dude...all in. Of coaches mentioned he is best option---we will not let him go if there is any chance he will take the job. We will pay the man.

I heard lovie smith's holding out for nfl type money from UT---$6-7 mil per year plus a boatload of benefits.

If he is we will probably come close. I would say 5 mil a year is in play for sure. 4 mil was our initial offer. If he started at 6 then 5 seems right. We will give him benefits. This is a must do thing.

Kiffin's house should be the first benefit they should give him as there's no chance of him ever returning to clear it out or reclaim it.

The SEC pays NFL-type money. What is it with all the Hamilton-thinking that we'd ever do otherwise at UT?

We want to win the championship. Pay the fiddler Hamilton. There's no alternative.

anyone can edit someones bio on wikipedia its a public site not 100% accurate by no means do not believe unless there are other source CONFIRMING it with his on QUOTES.. anyone human being who can operate a computer can change a wiki bio... do not post another useless link to this site please and quit cryin wolf your killin us here pretty sure lovie smith isnt comin here.
