Joe Schad (on Sportscenter) just reported that all signs are pointing to Cutcliffe. Also, that Mucshamp was never directly contacted about the position.

It seems like all vol fans are just bashing every candidate that has any UT ties...Look what happen when we went outside of the family.

Everyone should make a topic about their own opinions about each candidate for the head coaching job.

So, he's just reporting whatever. I'm sure Muschamp wasn't contacted 'directly'...what does directly even mean?

I can't help but wonder if their is a splinter on the board of trustees and if some members reached out to Cutcliffe without the backing of the entire board. I don't really have a 'source' here, but I do know someone close to Cut who claims that he was contacted and was considering the position as of this morning. What I honestly wonder is who contacted him and how many coaching searches we actually have going on here. There may be a coaching search going on that is independent of Hamilton and ends in Hammy being fired.

Why the hell would we get rid of Fulmer if we were just gonna turn around and bring his buddy here? We are offering people 2 mil when the schools paying for good coaches are paying 4 or better. Seems those schools are playing for championships and getting good coaches to coach good teams. My point being is, if we are gonna run with the big dogs we better break out the wallets and pay to play.. JMO..

Someone with wisdom tell us what Cut will do here maybe a good year 9 and 3 is that what we want.The people that want him are the Fulmerites.He was average to good at Ole Miss and at Duke although winning more games than i expected he still has a LOSING RECORD is this what you want.I heard he would bring stabilty to the program but does that win games. We are the University of Tennessee and should be competing for the SEC champoinship every year and a BCS bowl.Although Kiffin screwed us in the end he brought fire to the sidelines and in football you need that not this hand clapping gum chewing nice old men.I'm 62 years old and i'm telling you Cut isn't our answer.Give me somebody with fire and discipline and you keep the stability for the bowling team.

Don't think it will there's a problem with buyouts he wants to bring his staff so they would have to fire current coaches, so I don't think it will happen

+1.... this is what people are not understanding,we want a good coach? then pay the money, they will come and stay! why settle for a clone? why settle for somebody that has left the football program NOT ONCE BUT TWICE!!!!! we are already mad as hell cause of what kiffin did..so why do people want a coach that did it to us twice already...

Great point if money is an issue we are screwed.I guess Pilot quit pumping gas.Our neighbor to the south paid there guy 5 million and can someone tell me how they did this year. How do you spell NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP.If we want to play and compete with the big boys we better have deep pockets.At least give Kippy a chance i will take him a thousand times over the guy from Duke.

Cutcliffe can coach i.e. Ainge and look after 99 to 05. UT sucked except 01. When Cutcliffe was here we were pretty damn good. He isn't as passive as Phil but 06-07, UT start clicking again. Plus, given the circumstances and time element, who can we get better? Cutcliffe is alleged leader for coach not official HC.

Not that I want him but he left both times to become a head coach. :whatever:

If you have a personal opinion, dont make a thread about it. Just post in a current thread. Threads are supposed to be for NEW information not some guy's opinion who doesnt know his way out of a paper bag... Not saying this is you or anything, but leave the threads to something worth talking about. I could care less what you think personally...
