FULMER - YouTube

I sincerely believe Fulmer is the worse choice for AD, A little payback for what Currie did to him in 08. Moving along. I really hope Fulmer can put his feelings aside and as they have said make a splash hire. Their meaning of splash and mine are totally different His splash hire is probably some assistant coach no one has ever heard of and has a record of 4-8, 6-6, 7-5, 8-4 etc etc etc. If so, we will be no better off by firing Butch Jones. Let's take a look who is available. Jimbo Fisher will be hired at Texas A & M for 7.5 million per year for 10 years. He will make 75 million off this hiring. So, who will Florida State go after. Probably, Willy Taggart of Oregan, if he hasn't already signed the school's extension, Frost, or yes, he's back, Lane Kiffin. Everyone assumes Frost will go to Neb but are they correct. Will Fulmer reach out to any of these 3 outstanding coaches. My feeling is he won't. Will he reach out to Mike Leach? Probably, not. Les Miles is possible. NC State may be still on the table, but really, to me, he would be a really bad hire. He wants to take his time, but time is not on our side. Look around Fulmer the real splash hires are being removed from the table. Please don't talk to me about Randy Sanders or Tee Martin. Neither could beat Saban, Mullen or Kirby Smart on their best day. So, does Fulmer really want to win a championship and be in the front seat driving? If so, he really needs to consider talking to Frost, Leach, Miles and YES Lane Kiffin. Why Lane Kiffin? Because he would know how to coach the Volunteers to Championships. Put your feelings aside for a moment and realize Saban, Mullen, Smart, or any SEC team will not want to meet Lane on the field. Why? Because he would beat them and they know it. The whole sports world may be laughing now, but that would stop with Lane. And we would get the last laugh and Lane would take no prisoners and they would be the ones crying. If Fulmer hires or talks to anyone other than these names, then we will know the changes today really wasn't a change. And it will be the same old same old stuff in Tennessee.

Fulmer's revenge must be gleefully sweet.

He was masterful in minipulating this coaching hire process, setting the trap for Currie, whose fatal flaw was an inability to comprehend the mentality of the rank and file UT fan.

While I agreed that it was time to move on in 2008, I have to admit I was emotional on his way out and emotional today on his return.

Today feels right. God help Phil bring us back.

I did think it was time for him to move on in 2008. Having him back, in a different role, feels good. I think he is the right guy for right now. It's not like he'll be doing this coaching search all by himself. I think they've ALL learned from the events of this past week.

Did you watch the presser? Dude took control and will give every drop of blood to put UT back in the NC discussion again. Will he succeed? I don't know. But if he doesn't it won't be from lack of effort or lack of caring.

Works for Phil too... we are wiser today.
