I don't think you are following......get up walk out the door, and walk to barstow....and your weight issues will either be right as rain, or you'll be dead. Either way I am gonna go make me another bbq sammich.....

That would be a long walk. About 2100 miles. But, should lose a few pounds along the way.

OK, folks. Here's the lowdown. I don't eat fast food or junk food. Breakfast is usually a grain type cereal that is about 280 calories. Lunch is a salad w/ about a half tablespoon of dressing. I have about half a tomato and a 1/4 cucumber on the side. I keep the dinner to around 3-400 calories. Half breast of chicken on a bed of 1/2 cup of rice w/ some green beans and/or fresh corn on the side. I drink only water all day. At night, maybe 5-6 shots of whiskey. I'm in the gym 3 days a week. In the gym, I don't do as much as I did a couple of years ago. Age sometimes limits things. I do treadmill and bicycle for about 40 minutes. Treadmill @ 5 mph and the cycle is around 60 rpms, so I do 2 miles on the tread and 2 miles on the cycle. Then butterflys, front and back leg lifts, dead lifts and sit ups for about 30 minutes. I walk around the gym doing dumbell routines for another mile. Why am I not losing weight? Could it be an age thing where my metabolism has hit a wall?

This may have been addressed as I didn't read all of the responses so I apologize if it has been. First thing I notice is lack of calories from actual food (not the whiskey). Focus your meals around lean proteins, veggies and healthy carbs. Think sweet potatoes and whole grains, etc. Undereating can be just as detrimental to weight loss as overeating is. I would cut down the alcohol as well as it can slow down metabolism significantly not to mention the sugar that is in it. You dont have to cut it out completely but I would definitely reduce some.

I would look to add more weight related exercises to your routine too. Building up lean muscle affects how many calories your body burns even when resting. Maybe 3 days a week? At least. Can split it up or do full body routines/circuits. Change them up though, variety is great. I would do cardio after the weight exercises but that is just personal preference really.

I know. tl:dr

Thanks, VG. I've cut back on the Whiskey some. Good info from you and BC. I've not really been in this situation before. I'm going to drop 25 pounds if I have to cut off my head to do it.

Slydell,, my routine sounds almost identical to yours. 3 days a week in the gym. I don't do as many carbs as you do. On off gym days my goal is 10 miles on the bicycle. I started around the first of August and have lost 21 pounds. Is vodka better than whiskey??? ha

Maybe, I should switch to Vodka. I don't know exactly what's going on. I've never had a problem dropping weight when I needed to. But, age has to be a factor to some degree.
