Don't drink calories

Wait that would mean no beer or alcohol, you sir are insane....

Look I think all of this overly done diet stuff is over rated. Don't eat junk food, but eat real food, and the best way to lose weight (other then the meth idea previously mentioned) is to get off you your ass more. If drinking calories was the reason for being fat there wouldn't be a single marine able to get into his uniform.....step out of the house walk to California...and I promise you you can drink beer along the way and you'll lose weight by the time you hit Barstow......trust me...... this will work. No cheating hitching rides though.

OK, folks. Here's the lowdown. I don't eat fast food or junk food. Breakfast is usually a grain type cereal that is about 280 calories. Lunch is a salad w/ about a half tablespoon of dressing. I have about half a tomato and a 1/4 cucumber on the side. I keep the dinner to around 3-400 calories. Half breast of chicken on a bed of 1/2 cup of rice w/ some green beans and/or fresh corn on the side. I drink only water all day. At night, maybe 5-6 shots of whiskey. I'm in the gym 3 days a week. In the gym, I don't do as much as I did a couple of years ago. Age sometimes limits things. I do treadmill and bicycle for about 40 minutes. Treadmill @ 5 mph and the cycle is around 60 rpms, so I do 2 miles on the tread and 2 miles on the cycle. Then butterflys, front and back leg lifts, dead lifts and sit ups for about 30 minutes. I walk around the gym doing dumbell routines for another mile. Why am I not losing weight? Could it be an age thing where my metabolism has hit a wall?

Maybe you're shedding fat and replacing it with muscle?

It's a general rule, not one that can't ever be broken....there is cheating allowed on my diet, and if I want a couple beers I count the calories, but as a general rule, not drinking your calories will do a lot to improve your weight (if you were drinking a lot of calories).

Getting off your ass does little to help you lose weight in most cases, because diet is such a big factor. For most people it's about what they eat. You can work your ass off in the gym and burn 800 calories, but if you eat 4000 calories you're not losing an oz.

One big reason I think the South is so much fatter than the rest of the country is they drink sweetened iced tea while people in elsewhere are drinking diet Coke, so I'd have to say drinking your calories is a big factor.

5-6 shots of whiskey a night? That's like 500-600 calories right there. Sounds like you aren't eating much all day and then consuming about 1000 calories at night when your metabolism is coasting.

Try to eat more earlier and less at night, I'd say, and try to be a little more active (maybe just a walk at lunch time every day). If you have a desk job, and don't move around a bunch for work, that might help.

Age will definitely factor, as your metabolism declines, but I would say there is more than just that going on.

It could be that you're old

I think I'm wearing my metabolizer out. I need a new one.

I laugh now but I'm gonna be one fat mother****er by the time I'm 35 if I don't start working out. I just get by on basketball for 3 hours a day and eating like a sumo wrestler.

My secret to weight loss. Keep in mind, I used to be about a hundred pounds heavier than I currently am, so this is what worked for me. First, I developed colitis. Sure, it's a bit extreme, but it's better than anorexia or bulimia because it doesn't involve real choice. People can't guilt you for the not eating or purging. So the second part is a bit tough. You need to develop gall bladder problems while suffering through the colitis. This means they have to get you through the colitis so they can remove your gall bladder. It sucked, but I lost a lot of weight. When I say a lot, I mean a lot.

When I started putting some weight back on, I developed cirrohsis.

So in summation, if you want to lose weight, get life-threatening ill, then find a way to pull through.

So can I catch these from you? If my Mom were to bring me over to your house, will I be on my way to a sexy physique?

I should advise you you are asking for advice in a forum largely filled with guys sitting on our butts posting on forums.....this might not be the ideal local for advice.

With that said, testosterone, it may be time for injections. Talk to your doc.
