Might have missed a few things this week because I had family in town. But most of you know this series by now.

Monday 8-19 - Sunday 8-25

Current Commits:
  • Hurd finally earns his 5th star on Rivals, drops from #19 to #21 in Rivals100
  • Bates voted #1 defensive player in FL by flavarsity.com
  • Wharton scrimmage highlights Vic Wharton - Highlight Videos, Schedule & Roster - Hudl
  • Daniel Helm bumped up to a 5.9 and moved to #110 in Rivals250 and #1 TE in the nation
  • Joe Henderson does not get his 4th star. Rivals says its because he is one dimensional and only has 1 speed move. Blasphemy

  • After Mouhon's game, posters called him slow. Shortly after Mouhon calls out UT fans for talking trash about him.

WR Recruiting:
  • Josh Malone moves from #38 to #30 in the updated Rivals100
  • Hubbs says he thinks UT and UGA are near the top for Josh Malone
  • Barton Simmons changed his predictions and seems to have no clue what Malone is doing
  • Myles Autry releases top 7. Includes Vols
  • Josh Malone likely to OV to UGA, UT and FSU

Oline Recruiting:
  • Regarding Alex Bookser, Hubbs says, "It's hard for me to see Tennessee beat out Penn State and some Northeast schools. If he comes back to Knoxville with his family in the fall for an official visit then my view on him might change."
  • Regarding Dontavius Blair, Hubbs says, "I think Auburn will be tough to beat out. He's from Alabama and Auburn is pushing hard. His recruitment seemed to take on a different feel when the Tigers offered."
  • Regarding Brock Ruble, Hubbs says, "Ruble has told some that FSU and Tennessee are at the top, but honestly we can't get him on the phone and haven't been able to since he visited here in June."

Dline Recruiting:
  • Dante Sawyer names a top 4 of SCAR, AU, UT and UGA (in order)
  • JUCO OT Avery Gennesy releases a top 6 of UK, OSU, UGA, UT, OU and TAMU in no order
  • Matt Elam bumped up to a 5.8 4* #215 in Rivals250
  • Derek Barnett is #235 in Rivals250
  • Dewayne Hendrix #114 in Rivals250
  • Mosley didn't make the Rivals250 because of bad weight, per Woody
  • Hendrix - So I just caught back up with Dewayne who told me today he's taking an official to Tennessee for the Georgia game. He previously scheduled an official to Florida for the Arkansas game. After finding out they were the same dates, Hendrix said "it's probably going to be the Tennessee one then. - Steve Wiltfong, 247
  • According to Steve Witfog at 247, The Vols have a sizeable lead and has been back and forth on whether to commit or wait it out
  • Mosley said hes going to commit at his homecoming game OCT 4th

LB Recruiting:
  • "While the 6-foot-2, 228-pound Garrett will give each school an opportunity to make a run at the front-running Tigers, word we’ve received is that the Vols are the only legitimate threat to LSU at this point." -247

DB Recruiting:
  • Adoree Jackson thread bumped from the first page to the first page. No info... just "bump"
  • DJ Smith #118 in Rivals250
  • Evan Berry bumped up to a 5.8 4* on Rivals

2015 Recruiting:
  • Anree Saint Amour on UT offer - “It’s one of those offers I actually wanted to have, and it’s close to my house and everything. I was really excited.” “I like the program,” he said. “I love the program. They have the history — Peyton Manning, Reggie White, one of my favorite defensive ends. (The offer) made a big impression on me, football-wise and everything" - 247
  • FL CB Tarvarus McFadden has top 5 of LSU, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee and South Carolina
  • TN DE Dylan Jackson who is coached by former Vol Todd Kelly, says hes close with Todd Kelly Jr. Current commits are recruiting him.
  • TN OL (LS) Riley Lovingood says UT is showing interest. Teammate of Jalen Hurd and huge UT fan. Went to all home games last year
  • AL OL Tyler Carr showed up for the open practice. Also camped at UT during the summer and was very impressed.
  • AL RB Nick Gibson. TriCitiesVol heard he has a good visit. HATINGBAMAISAWAYOFLIFE says he talked to his dad and UT now leads.
  • Hubbs says Camion Patrick will have to show academic focus if we want to consider him a UT commit. Coaches are still in contact. Poster on VQ says he heard Patrick already left JUCO
  • NC RB Shawn Furlow says UT has been contacting him
  • P810sDaMan18 says he heard we will be offering DT Darvin Taylor soon

Other notes:

  • VolinArizona is Donald Duck
  • Antonio Barton (Basketball) transfers to UT from Memphis
  • Almost all of the newcomers have lost their black stripe

Current Team:
  • Tom Smith passes Alden Hill on the depth chart
  • Worley is named starting QB

In all seriousness, stay the hell away from recruits if you have nothing good to say...and anyone who says that crap doesn't affect recruits, look up the recruitment of Ole Miss LB CJ Johnson.

Whether its true or not, he was quoted multiple times as saying fans comments on his FB had gotten way out of hand and he was glad he switched his commitment to Ole Miss.

Another great job, POA. Thanks for all the info. I'm just trying to imagine how long your OP would be every week the last few weeks leading up to nsd with all that craziness going on. You may need an assistant during that time if you continue to do these lol.

We need to get you and a couple other VN guys a weekly radio show. It could be sponsored by VolNation and y'all could answer recruiting questions from guys asking if Mouhon is too slow. Wouldn't that be fun? Need to get that going asap, Freak :)

Was thinking the same but didnt want to say anything. Total not sure if serious moment. He was prob joking., but I wanted to say, how long of a week do you want it to be then? Cue camel hump day commercial
