With a month and a half until signing day, does our "realistic" final recruits look similar to this:
Derrell Scott
Andrew Williams
Adoree Jackson
Benjamin Knox
"I'd say add Bo Scarborough to that list as Tennessee has a chance of getting one of his last two official visits. I think Andrew Williams is going to go to either Auburn or Clemson. Scarborough, Jackson, Knox, Scott is probably it, unless the Derrick Kelly gives the Vols a look but I think he's all but a lock for FSU. I think this staff wants to very much hold on to who they have and then if they can make room for one or two of those guys, which will be very tough." - Fortenberry
Current Commit News:
- "Tennessee commit Emmanuel Moseley plans to be an early enrollee, but he says that hasn't stopped other teams from trying to make him change his mind. N.C. State, Clemson and a few others are still in touch with Moseley, but he thinks he will stick with the Vols." - Fortenberry
- The NJCAA All-American team is out and Vol defensive line commitment Owen Williams makes the second team
- Owen Williams finished with 50 tackles, 17 TFL and seven sacks.
- Emmanuel Moseley: Its set in that Ill be playing in the SEC, he said. The coaches have come and visited me and I love the program. I was there for the Georgia game and I loved it, Moseley said. I loved the visit hanging out with the coaches, going on the boat ride and just sharing fellowship with the players and commits. Im 100 percent committed to Tennessee, Moseley said. Im very excited about the opportunity. Just having the chance to play in the SEC in front of 103,000 fans playing for coach Butch Jones its just amazing. -scout
- Neiko Creamer: it was great just to come back before i officially enroll, said creamer, whos the son of former tennessee cornerback andre creamer. i got to talk to all the academic leaders and all that to make sure i prepare myself to be a student-athlete now. i had a great time with the coaches and (fellow vols commitments) dandre (payne) and daniel (helm) and some of the players that were still there (during) christmas break. We had a good time. a couple games, they were a couple plays short, but they had a new coach. Coach jones, hes going to put the program back where it needs to be. The program is going in the right direction. he said hes now counting down the days until he returns to knoxville on jan. 4 before attending his first spring-semester classes on jan. 8. i think were good to go, creamer said. its pretty exciting. - 247
- Dontavius Blair: i mean, (other schools have) still been calling and whatnot[.] all of them are still calling, to be honest. I thought they were going to stop calling, but they didnt. I just let the phone ring to be honest, man. im done. Im great. Im with vol nation. they told me ill come in and start at left tackle, blair said. i mean, i really dont care where i play. Ive played both sides. Before (richardson) left, before he declared, i was thinking about right tackle because he had been there. And with me coming in from juco and all that, i mean, he knew the system. But now that hes gone, its opened back up. i can play both sides, but wherever youre comfortable at, thats where you want to play. Ill play anywhere ill play guard if i have to but left tackle is where im really, really comfortable at, where i know you can throw me in and i can do my job. - 247

- Lavon Pearson, Owen Williams and Dontavius Blair all sign NLIs to UT on JUCO signing day
- DaVonte Lambert flips from UT and signs with Auburn on JUCO signing day
- Lavon Pearson: Florida State called me, like, two days ago. They were throwing everything at me, said Pearson, whos ranked the nations No. 4 junior-college player in the 2014 class and the No. 2 juco wide receiver in the 247Sports Composite, which equally weighs prospect rankings and ratings from major recruiting media outlets. I was like, Yall found me too late. Im already going to Tennessee. I feel like Im all Tennessee. I told (Tennessee) coach (Butch) Jones Im not going to be dirty, because I gave him my word. When I give you my word, thats my word. (Oregon) really, really wanted me. Ive had a lot of schools offer me, but I told my coach to let them know I was already (committed). When I talk to Coach Z, I just feel like Ive known him for a long, long time, Pearson said. Me and Coach Z, we feel close, but we havent known each other for that long. It just feels like weve got a good connection. And hes the receivers coach. Hes going to be the one to show me all my techniques and stuff. I like Tennessee, too. I mean, its a good school. Theyve got a good team. Theyre just missing a few little pieces, and I feel like I can be one of those pieces. -247. He goes on to say that Oregon really pushed for him hard. He also said Arkansas, Utah, Miami, Arizona State, California and Akron all have been in contact since he committed. He admitted that he got a little worried when Malone committed, but his relationship with Coach Z and Butch prevailed. Said he never wavered on his pledge to UT. His mom is on board completely. She really likes UT. And that's big for Pearson.
- Shrine Bowl Top Performers- 8. DB EMMANUEL MOSELEY, GREENSBORO (N.C.) DUDLEY: Moseley bounced back well. He didn't have great practices on Monday and Tuesday, but he came up with some big plays and wasn't out of position. The Tennessee commit has very good overall speed but sometimes gets caught looking in the backfield or is a bit hesitant. Moseley used his speed to stay with receivers and, while he was playing safety, got to the ball-carrier quickly. -Rivals
- Emmanuel Moseley: "Have talked to a few people that have seen him at practice this week as well. They have said he's extremely raw at corner and very skinny and has had trouble with physical receivers this week as well as being out of position. His athleticism is pretty obvious from what I've been told, but is still learning how to play defensive back. He played more safety today and he showed well, as the article states. Was actually told earlier in the week that safety may be a better spot for him this week because of how raw he was at corner and at safety he has a better chance to just read and react." -Fortenberry
- Dimarya Mixon: its all tennessee for me, and i dont plan on going nowhere. Im not really looking forward to talking to anybody else, he said. im just happy that everything is clear with the clearinghouse, the ncaa. Im just happy everything is good and its almost time to leave. (i like) the coaches and just the tradition (at tennessee). I still feel like coach (butch) jones is going to change this program around. Theyre going to get back to the 98 tennessee, and i feel like its coming pretty soon. they were telling me that me being able to come in early is a really big deal for them, because they need the depth and need people to learn the system as quick as possible. Being able to get a spring (practice), you cant ask for more, mixon said. they were just telling me im going to be one of their guys, and ive just got to come in prepared. Me grayshirting (this year) and sitting at home for a semester made me mature a little more, and coach was saying that he liked that. He knows that im going to be one of those guys thats ready to come to play. they said, as of right now, they like where my weight is, because i can withstand the run and also pass rush because im not too heavy, (but) im not too light, he said. i feel like ive been doing pretty well in the weight room. Ive just got to make sure im in playing shape for when i get down there. -247

RB Recruiting:
- "Rivals250 all-purpose back Derrell Scott is one of the top uncommitted players at the Shrine Bowl. Scott has an official top five of Florida State, N.C. State, Ohio State, South Carolina and Tennessee, but the top contenders are the Gamecocks and Volunteers. Tennessee already had an in-home visit, and South Carolina will visit Scott's home in January. N.C. State is very much in the mix as well, but the Wolfpack looks to be trailing Tennessee and South Carolina. Scott, who does not have any other official visits planned, is hoping to commit some time in mid- to late-January." - Rivals
- Derrell Scott: On UT: "Really the chance for me to go in there and play early," stands out, Scott says. "I just like the things that (Tennessee head) coach (Butch) Jones is doing. [He tells me] I can get on the field early and that they don't have a guy like me there." On USCe: "They've probably been recruiting me longer than anybody else has so that sticks out," Scott said of the Gamecocks. "They've been there for me for a long time. I just like South Carolina, it's hard to explain." "I'm their guy still and they I've been their guy since Day 1, ever since they started recruiting me my freshman year, Scott said. "They don't want anybody else but me, they don't want to take anybody else." All UT, USCe, and NC State: "They're all pretty much even," he said of South Carolina, Tennessee and N.C. State. - 247
- Derrell Scott: "South Carolina has been at the top of my list for a while," the four-star recruit, who is ranked as the nation's No. 190 senior and No. 8 all-purpose running back, said. "Tennessee moved up a little bit in the past few months or so after I took my official up there. NC State pretty much moved up a little bit too with the new coaching staff. "It's pretty much even with those three schools." "It may be before the new year, or afterwards in January or something," he said. "But I will [announce a decision date] sometime soon." Scott said the deciding factor will be his comfort level at his new home. He knows what each program has to offer after officially visiting Tennessee in early October and South Carolina on the weekend of Nov. 15. "Really, pretty much [it comes down to finding] a place that's comfortable," he said. "You don't play football every month out of the year, so you have to find a place where you'll enjoy living during the other parts of the year." -NCSU Rivals
- Derrell Scott: I havent set a date because I've been so focused on my season, he said It may before next year or in January, but it will be sometime soon. -scout
- "USC, Tennessee and NC State have been considered the top schools with Scott but his coach said Monday Clemson and Florida State are also in the running. Clemson has been talking to him and they came by the school to visit him, coach Jim Bob Bryant said. Hell probably visit there." - Recruiting Recap: McMillan chooses Ohio State
- Brandon Powell decides to stick with his commitment to Miami
- Derrell Scott: "Four-star running back Derrell Scott, one of the Vols biggest remaining targets, was supposed to compete in the game but broke his hand in the state championship game and left on Monday. With Scott gone but several well-connected people still around I went looking for info and here's what I found out: 1. Scott doesn't like to talk: He's a pretty shy kid and not a guy who really relishes the spotlight. He shies away from interviews and from what coaches tell me he's not great at making regular contact with the schools recruiting him, making things even dicier during the dead period. 2. It seems to be a South Carolina-Tennessee battle. N.C. State still thinks its in a good position to land Scott but from what I was told today it's going to come down to the Vols and the Gamecocks. 3. Tennessee currently has the edge. The person I talked to told me that if he had to make a guess today that it would "be orange." Tennessee is selling Scott on a "Thunder and Lightning" type role with fellow 2014 RB commit Jalen Hurd and it appears to be something he's interested in. Combine that with the fact that Scott is familiar with Riley Ferguson (the QB that the Vols staff is selling as the future starter) and current wide receiver Marquez North, only helps Tennessee's position. 4. South Carolina is pulling out all the stops. Scott's former teammate and current Gamecock do-everything offensive weapon Pharaoh Cooper has started helping the Gamecocks coaches in their recruiting efforts over the past week. Cooper had remained out of the picture while both players focused on their seasons, but with crunch time coming up Cooper is selling Scott on the chance for the two to play together again (they won two state championships together while playing on the same offense at Havelock High), especially considering the state of South Carolina's RB depth chart and the fact that Mike Davis is likely to leaver following next season. 5. FSU is lurking. If the Noles don't add Dalvin Cook, expect the to put the full-court press on Scott. Vols fans should be rooting for FSU to land Cook, No. 1 to get him out of the SEC and No. 2 to help their case for early playing time. 6. There's still a lot of time before signing day. Tennessee sort of finds itself in an opposite position than it did with Josh Malone. South Carolina is the easy choice here while Tennessee can offer different and appealing options. The bottom line is this will be a tough one to follow, but I was assured Scott will decide prior to Signing Day, so the school that does miss out will have a chance to explore secondary options." - Woody Wommack
- "Scarborough is an interesting situation for sure. Even though he's been committed for a long time to Alabama we've been told by numerous people it's best to categorize that commitment as very soft. Ole Miss has become a team that's very much a team to watch with Scarborough and Tennessee is fighting very hard to receive one of his last two visits and some have wondered if he will even visit Alabama at all for an official visit. If Tennessee can get him on campus we think they can be real contenders, but until then we still think it's a bit premature to say the Vols are deep in this one. One thing to remember with Scarborough is there are some grade concerns there and that may end up affecting his recruitment as well." -VQ
- "Scott, as we've said for several weeks now, has Tennessee and South Carolina at the top and depending on who you talk to they would tell you Tennessee or South Carolina has the edge. What is certainly worth keeping in the back of your mind is that South Carolina has been thought of as the team to beat for Scott for a very long time and while Tennessee and Robert Gillespie have done a great job with Scott we still think this one will be hard for Tennessee to pull off. But, the Vols are very much in this one and Scott will decide before signing day it seems and if Tennessee continues to carry this momentum for another month it all bets are off." -VQ
- Bo Scarbrough: Scarbrough will take his final two visits in January after the Under Armour game. He is contemplating three schools for his final trips. "A lot of people want me to visit on January 17," Scarbrough said. "I have not decided where I will go yet. I do know the schools I am considering for my final visits are Alabama, Florida and Oklahoma. I am not really looking at anyone else. Those are the only other schools besides the ones I visited. "Florida and Oklahoma are telling me pretty much the same as Ole Miss. They are looking for a back to come in and contribute. They want a big back like me. I just like those programs and their coaching staffs." - Rivals
WR Recruiting:
- Eric Lauderdale: "I have a top five and Nebraska is in that five," Lauderdale said. "I am planning on taking visits to Oregon and Arizona State. I might still go to Tennessee and I have already been to Florida." -scout
OLine Recruiting:
- Benjamin Knox: I was asking (coach Mahoney) why he jumped on me so late and all, and he explained to me that he needs to find help fast along that O-line and said he needed me, Knox said. I dont want to sit on the bench, thats for sure. Im thinking about taking my last visit up there, Knox said. But Im still trying to decide if its worth it. Marlin will stay on me, though. -scout
- Alex Bookser commits to Pitt
LB Recruiting:
- Clifton Garrett commits to LSU
Dline Recruiting:
- If Franklin leaves Vandy could we pull (Michael) Sawyers or Smith? "I could see something happening with Michael Sawyers because there's more of a need with him at DT. Maybe Smith if the numbers worked out or a linebacker decommitted, but right now they are full at linebacker. "-Fortenberry
- Dante Sawyer commits to USCe
- Lambert flips from UT to Auburn
- Poona Ford says he is considering Poona Ford once again
- Andrew Williams: "I think his family's interest in Tennessee is greater than his interest at this point." -Hubbs
- Lance McDowdell: Tennessee was up there, and you know, its a really good school, the 6-foot-1, 255-pounder said. They have really great recruits coming in and I like all their coaches. They just didnt have enough room in that class, you know, that 2014 class is filled with a bunch of solid guys." -scout
- "So, where does Tennessee turn on the defensive line? Immediately, there's not a clear answer. Don't look for Tennessee to go after unsigned juco defensive linemen Calvin Heurtelou or Lance McDowdell. Tennessee will look at May junior college graduates but there's a sense the staff really doesn't want to go that way unless it's an upper-tier guy and there doesn't seem to be that many out there like that. Tennessee will certainly try with several high school defensive linemen, but like with junior college guys, don't just expect this staff to take a lineman just to take one, especially with the class they do have assembled. Don't be surprised if they take a run at a Texas commitment or two along the defensive line with Mack Brown headed out. The thing to really watch for here is how the coaching dominoes begin to fall once someone is hired at Texas. That is likely to set off an assistant coach bonanza as well with guys moving from place to place and Tennessee could seemingly get back in with a guy or two that has been committed. We believe that is certainly something to keep a close eye one once the dominoes fall." - VQ
2015 Recruiting:
- NC DE Emmanuel Olenga: Olenga, who was actually born in Congo before moving to America when he was six-years old, visited Tennessee for the Vanderbilt game and the 6-foot-5, 240-pound lineman said the Vols have impressed him the most of an school early on. "I visited and I love the coaching staff and I love the players and I think Tennessee is probably where I fit in the most," Olenga said. Along with Tennessee, Olenga also visited North Carolina, North Carolina State, Wake Forest and is also hearing from schools like Florida State, Auburn, Northwestern, Clemson and many others. "They followed me on Twitter and then coach Knight sent me a message and then I just started talking to them and he's a really good person and we were talking a lot and he told me to visit," Olenga said. Olenga was in Knoxville when Tennessee played Vanderbilt and he was able to talk to defensive line coach Steve Stripling. "Coach Knight grabbed me and took me to coach Strip and he's a great guy," Olenga said. "I like them a lot." Olenga added that he really enjoyed his time in Neyland Stadium. "It was a very hype scene. I liked the atmosphere at the game. It was very motivational and it was an environment I feel like I can play in," Olenga added. "Overall, it's just an atmosphere I really like." -VQ
- OH CB Chris Fobbs: "Other schools that came in to see the 6-foot-1, 190-pound Fobbs following the season included Cincinnati, Indiana, Ohio State, Tennessee, Louisville and several MAC programs. Tennessee is another school Fobbs has felt strong interest from. "Tennessee talked to me about coming down to their junior day and working out with them in the summer," Fobbs said. "My brother got recruited there and we had been to games there, so I know how it is down there. It is a great tradition." As a cornerback for Miamisburg High this season, Fobbs tallied 26 tackles and four interceptions." - Rivals
- OH CB Chris Fobbs: "2015 Ohio CB to keep an eye on - Miamisburg, Ohio 2015 CB Chris Fobbs had Tennessee coaches in his school earlier this month and they are talking about getting him in for a junior day this winter. I got a chance to see Fobbs earlier this year. He is a legit 6-1, 190 pounds. Similar to a Joe Henderson last year, all the tools are there, and if he develops his strengths and addresses his weaknesses this off-season he could be a really highly-sought kid by this time next year. Sounds like there are some academic questions that need to get answered there, but he's a sharp kid and I doubt it is anything that is not correctable." - Josh Helmholdt, Rivals
- NC CB Mark Fields: Fields went on to say, "If I had to name favorites right now out of the schools that have offered me, they would be South Carolina, Georgia, and Clemson. I would say Tennessee could be in there too." -scout
- FL WR George Campbell decommits from Michigan
- UT offers FL QB Dwayne Lawson
- Earl Garcia, Dwayne Lawson's HS coach: Right now I would say that Florida and Tennessee are his top two, Garcia said. I know he was very excited to land those two. They are one-two and thats not in order. In the end, I think it will all depend on how far away from home he wants to go. Thats three SEC offers and I am sure more are coming. He says hes open and we will see what happens. This kid is a difference maker. -scout
- VA DT Tim Settle: Settle, who keeps in contact with Tennessee tight ends coach Mark Elder and was visited last week by Vol offensive line coach Don Mahoney, said he likes what he's hearing so far from the Volunteer staff. "He's just been telling me that they're a great program and they're getting top recruits and that I need to come visit," Settle said. "I tried to watch them a lot this year," Settle said. "They have a great fan base and their fans are committed and I really like that." Settle hopes to make it down to Tennessee sometime in the winter or spring and hopes to see FSU, Georgia, Arizona and others as well. Settle already has a map for how he hopes his recruitment plays out as he plans to commit on Oct. 18 next year after taking all five official visits. "The relationship with coaches are important and the academics, the school in general, and I want to have a great official visit," Settle said. "It's going to mostly be based on my official visits and how everything goes. I want to have a great time." -VQ
- NC DE Darian Roseboro: "I was very impressed. Tennessee has one of the best programs I've seen so far and I'd definitely put them in my top group," Roseboro said. "When I was down there the fans just packed it in for the game and everyone was on the edge of their seats and Tennessee came to play." "I talked to them once a week just to build a relationship. I like those coaches and I like what they stand for and how they treat their players," Roseboro said. "I like that their program is on the rise. "Their facilities are nice and they are nice coaches that go out of their way to get to know you and you can tell they really care about their players off the field and it seems like they take you in as one of their sons and I really respected that. I like their coaching strategy and they are all about technique. I really like that," "During the spring I plan on taking in several junior days to a couple of colleges. I'm not sure which ones yet, but I'm going to get around to every school that showing interest in me and has offered me," Roseboro explained. "I want to get a feel for that place and then from there start narrowing it down before the summer because I plan on graduating early my senior year and enrolling early in college. I want to have everything situated and commit by the middle of my senior season." -VQ
- UT offers AL LB Dee Smith
- AL LB Dee Smith: "They called my head coach," Smith said. "I talked to them on the phone. I talked to Coach Thigpen. He said they haven't seen a linebacker who can move like me. I can play inside and outside the box. "He let the defensive coordinator (John Jancek) watch my film. They wanted to go ahead and pull the trigger. I really didn't expect Tennessee to be my first offer. It came unexpectedly. "I have never been up there for a visit. I really like them. I wouldn't mind going up there. I would like to go visit and see the campus." - Bama rivals
- UT offers MO WR Alex Ofodile
- FL OL Tyree St. Louis: "Florida offensive lineman Tyree St. Louis told Volquest.com earlier this week that Tennessee is the leader for his services ahead of Louisville. St. Louis camped at Tennessee last summer where the Vols offered the big offensive lineman on the spot. Look for a January visit from St. Louis and for it to likely lengthen Tennessee's lead." -VQ
- UT offers FL ATH Jordan Cronkrite
- FL OL Tyree St. Louis: Tennessee was one of the first schools to offer the 6-foot-6, 285-pound lineman lat summer when he was on campus for camp. Since then he's being keeping in touch with Vol offensive line coach Don Mahoney as well as running backs coach Robert Gillespie. "I really like the tradition that they carry and the way the school is set up and I see they're rebuilding the program from the bottom up," St. Louis said about Tennessee. "They have the second best recruiting class in the country and I'm looking forward to seeing it again and maybe committing." St. Louis said the Vols are currently his leader and that Louisville and Kentucky follow in order at this point. The Tampa, Fla., native said there are several reasons he has the Vols on top. "Whenever I'm there I feel like I'm at home," St. Louis said. "They have a great program, great coaching, good facilities and a great staff. I know for a fact in a few years they will be big time in the SEC." He added that he likes the fact Louisville and Kentucky round out his top three and both are big rivals. "They have a good rivalry going right now and they both have good percentages with players leaving and going to the NFL," St. Louis said. "Louisville has a good percentage in their conference and Kentucky is up and coming." -VQ
- CA DE Keisean Lucier-South: "They were my first SEC offer and that was a real honor," Lucier-South offered. "Then, after that I was talking to coach Knight and coach Strip and then three weeks ago I talked to Butch Jones for the first time." Talking to Jones was a milestone for Lucier-South as it was the first SEC head coach he talked to. "I was really in shock, I was really nervous," Lucier-South said. "I have talked to other head coaches but to talk to an SEC coach is really a big honor. And coach Jones, he's a really nice guy and I really like him." "I just know they have one of the biggest stadiums in the country," Lucier-South said. "I know Peyton Manning and some other top players went there and I know it's in the SEC and that's the toughest conference." "I went to a UCLA game this year and that was the first college game I had ever been to. I really liked it," Lucier-South said. "I really want to see Tennessee because I've heard it's insane there." "Probably after basketball season I'll take some visits and then again in the summer time I plan on doing a lot of camps," Lucier-South said. "Then, my decision, I'm going to take my time and I'm not going to rush it. I don't want to commit and then decommit and all of that. I want to take my time, see what the right place is for me and then commit on signing day." - VQ
- KY QB Elijah Sindelar: Likes UT's offense, similar to what he runs in high school. Likes how close UT is to home. Bajakian is main recruiter. Likes Peyton Manning. High on the Vols. Also says he wants to make a decision by the end of January/February
- VA ATH Jaason Lewis: lewis, who claims 21 scholarship offers to date, said tennessee, georgia tech and ucla are on top among his five front-runners. its just a good program that theyre building, and i talk to coach z a lot, lewis said, referring to azzanni. weve been talking since ive been able to get messages from people. I always knew tennessee because of (former vols wide receiver) justin hunter. Hes from my high school, and he went there." - 247
- MO WR Alex Ofodile: (Azzanni) has been recruiting me since the summer, so I finally got the offer that I was waiting for. That was pretty exciting, said Ofodile, whos ranked the nations No. 121 overall player and No. 13 wide receiver in the 247Sports Composite, which equally weighs prospect rankings and ratings from major recruiting media outlets. Its definitely one Ive been waiting for since the summer when I went to camp there. It was, like, crazy. The indoor (facility) and just the campus is ridiculous. Its definitely one I was waiting for. Everythings open right now. Im definitely going to take some visits in the winter. Tennessee will be a visit Ill take, for sure. Im planning on having a decision ready by August, Alex Ofodile said. - 247
- AL LB Dee Smith: Tennessee assistant coach Tommy Thigpen is recruiting Smith for the Vols. Smith grew up an Auburn fan, but the Vols were first to offer rangy defender. "It felt great," replied Smith. "I was very excited, but I don't really have a top school right now." As a kid he grew up an Auburn fan and he reports interest from the SEC champs along with Kentucky and Ole Miss. According to Smith, he feels the Rebels could be next to offer based on his feedback from his coaches. "As a junior, Smith racked up over 80 tackles including 15 for loss, five sacks, and a pair of interceptions." - Rivals
2016 Recruiting:
- MD ATH Lorenzo Harrison: Tennessee said they want to see me take on a bigger part of the offense [before they offer], Harrison said. Hopefully I can keep in touch with them and pick up the offer soon. -scout
