I posted some information in another thread and thought it might be helpful to those traveling to put under own thread. I think I might turn this into a travelogue of sorts as well. I will be driving this afternoon. If you all are driving tonight and tomorrow, please be safe. Look for the fat guy with white Tacoma. Baseball jerseys hanging in windows.

I have not been to Omaha since 2001 series and that was at Rosenblatt. It was seemingly easier to attend to those games on the outskirts of town - next to zoo, rather than downtown. But, Omaha wanted to help downtown businesses so here it is.

My significant other has booked us in a hotel just south of Omaha in La Vista. (I'm not sure what this town has a view of) If anyone is also staying in that area, we could consider carpooling downtown to save parking expense.

My travel plans are pretty simple. Depart Master Bedroom at 18:45. Veer left upon departure and then take sharp right into Kitchen. Prepare copious foods and cocktail and circle back through dining area at 18:57 to Runway O-18 (Omaha 18) leading to electric leather recliner and 80" TV (w excellent views of Atlantic Ocean in the background). Recline chair to preferred position and proceed to holler and scream for the next 2 hours and 37 minutes

This has been a real learning experience.

Parking is ZERO issue, especially if you’re used to UT football games.

1/2 - 3/4 mile walk will get you to rather empty lots for $10-15

We stayed at the Holiday Inn in council bluffs and had no issues. Typical/standard Holiday Inn. Used the pedestrian bridge every day to get across the river.
I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express that was about 10 miles away. I guess it’s west Omaha. Just the hotels in CB, are usually lower.

Yeah ours was probably 2/3rd the cost of Omaha proper hotels. Still averaged damn near $400/night with fees and taxes but would’ve easily been $600+ anywhere near downtown.

I did Saturday, Sunday, and Monday for right at 1,000. Then added an extra day for 225 once I got to the hotel. Uber was about 15 bucks 1 way before tip. I flew in for about 600 dollars.
