Week 5 AP?

Doesn't matter to me as long as we take games one at a time and progress in talent we are a top 10 team from what I saw tonight.

Even though we aren't a first half team, I'll take a team that never quits and finishes opponents in the second half.

11-12

We broke a valuable streak tonight. We won an important game for Volnation, however at the end of the day it was still a lower ranked team.

Potentionlly 5 teams ahead of us could lose. Georgia and Michigan State lost. Stanford, Washington trailing. A&M tied.

They could've been unranked and it wouldn't have changed the significance of getting this win. But the ranking helps.lol

They were ranked 18th ...

Number 8 lost today.

Tennessee was 14

Well be number 9 or 10.

It depends on the result of the UCLA vs. Stanford game and the result of the A & M & Arkansas game. Should other teams in the top 10 lose, then we will climb further up the ladder.
Also, next week, Clemson plays Louisville and Wisconsin plays Michigan and the outcome of those games could move us even higher in the polls prior to the A & M game.

We might fall once we lose to Alabama in three weeks though

Doesn't matter
Who cares beat Georgia

There always has to be a handful of clever posters that have these kind of reponses.

A) Rankings absolutely matter

B) Several people care about rankings, including myself. Top ranked teams pull top ranked talent. Plus, it's just nice to know your team is considered among the best in the country, it's a great measure of success.

#11 is appropriate. Deny them the Top 10 to keep them on point. And Dobbs is #11.

An 11 game win streak would be sweet as well.

And with a backup QB

You're need to learn how to be happy. Jesus. Yes, Florida was playing without the great world beater Del Rio. And we didnt have Cam Sutton, Reeves-Maybin, or Kirkland Jr (our 3 most important defensive players (given backups)). We beat a top 20 team without our 3 most important defensive players, while having lost to them 11 seasons running. This *is* a huge win.

It must be depressing to be you.

And rankings will affect bowl games. If we are ranked (for the sake of argument) 5th in the country right now, but proceed to lose 2 of our remaining 8 games, we could still very well be top 10-12, and end up going to a very good bowl game. if we are ranked 22nd right now, and proceed to lose the same two games, we will be unranked, and will end up playing in a garbage bowl game. Rankings now affect perception, and affect (in the minds of conservative voters) the ranking we have each subsequent week.
