I don't get how UGA is suddenly a top 10 team. They beat a ranked team that was ranked below them...so they did as expected. Maybe move them up a little since teams in front of them lost, but jumping them into the top 10 is a huge overreaction.

Lucky to be #14. Don't like being in polls early in the year. Better to hang carrot in front of many college players and coaches (see '98 NC UT) and let them fight like hell for respect.

I think the AP will keep us just inside the Top 15 at #14. Bet UGA jumps us. Chubb, Kirby and Eason are the new Holy Trinity, so it wouldn't surprise me to see them in the Top 10.

I am both surprised and not surprised somehow. Not sure. I mean, I expected us to fall to the 12-15 rang in most rankings, but since a lot of other teams struggled week 1,not just us, falling from #12 all the way to #23 in the CBS sports rankings just seems absurd. It should be the 14-17 range. How do you win against the #39 team in those rankings and then almost fall all the way out of the rankings? Makes no sense.

Not surprised to see the new rankings, but I'm telling you all right now: App State would beat UNC (I say this as a UNC fan), and they will most definitely beat Miami FL in Boone in two weeks.

No, we did not look good against App State, but App State is a good team. They will win at least 11 games this year and will probably play a Texas, a Notre Dame, or a Michigan State in a bowl game. And will probably give them the Boise State what-for.

We totally looked past App State. Thought we could beat them simply because their name was "App State." We probably hardly prepared for them. Probably been preparing for VT all summer. That was a stupidity and hubris that almost cost us, but should pay off this Saturday night.

Michigan State and TCU should have either stayed steady or dropped. Their wins are the same category as Tennessee - so if you drop 1 for it - you drop all three.

It's all over-reaction at this point...and it really doesn't matter this early in the season.

While it's true that both Michigan State & TCU struggled, neither was in imminent danger of losing and both won by 14+ points in regulation.

It's hard to believe that some thought we wouldn't take a hit in the polls. When teams are taken into OT @ home by opponents ranked 30-some places below them, especially after trailing for 50 minutes, there should be repercussions, IMO. Votes are made not just based on teams' wins & losses, but also on how they actually perform...seems sensible to me.

The season's just underway and we'll have ample opportunity to rise in the polls if we earn it.

Personally thought we'd drop to 16-19 after the tight win over App St. Dobbs looked trepidant out there for a Senior, which is a little concerning and our O Line got outplayed most of the game. We just did not look like a top 15 team. If we beat Va Tech then I'll start to believe we are a top 15 team. Beat Florida and I might even start believing we are a top 10 team.
