GBO97 Look at the three favorite team blocks below my handle. Those are my three favorite teams and that's why i added Georgia Tech and BYU to the post and you're the only one who's given me heck about it. If you don't like it put me on ignore.

Sorry I'm on mobile, didn't see

MCB has a higher payout than the Liberty Bowl, Belk Bowl or any other bowl we're a serious contender for. In addition, it doesn't seem like they want us to play 3 straight games in Nashville. I'm hoping for Liberty. We'd have roughly 90% of the fans there. UNC, NC State would bring at least a 1/3 or more to the Belk Bowl, especially NC State.

Im not sure this matters anymore, I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure all bowl payouts are split up among the whole league.

for what it's worth, I listened to the Music City bowl president this morning. he very much sounded like he has his eyes set on a higher win SEC team. kept mentioning LSU, Auburn, and Georgia. didn't seem interested in Tennessee

I hadn't heard anything from MCB officials so this is good insight, thanks.

It doesn't help that we littered the field with beer and trash for 15-20 minutes the last time we were at the Music City Bowl. I'm willing to bet they give another fan base a shot. From a business standpoint, I think they'd make the most money possible by having Tennessee there. We wouldn't return any tickets, and every seat would be filled. At the same time, I understand the MCB not wanting to become the "Tennessee vs" Bowl and get their brand out there by including a program they wouldn't usually get to enjoy (LSU, UGA, Auburn). On that same note, how long will we be a .500 team that they even get to consider? There might come a day when they wish they would have invited Tennessee and cashed in while they could.

Someone else brought up a great point. Most of the fans that would go could come in for just the game and leave immediately after. Barring a win, most fans wouldn't even make it to Broadway after the game. I would like to see some stats on money spent the last time we were in Nashville.

Edit: Just realized you too are a Big Steve. Fascinating!

Not The Liberty Bowl! Memphis is horrible-too dangerous.

Someone claimed Butch wants the Liberty Bowl to help in recruiting in that part of the state. There is a lot of in-state talent there that looks to Mississippi, Alabama and LSU.

I'm leaning to the Belk Bowl against Notre Dame. They are very beatable, they are high profile, just because of who they are and Butch followed their coach at CMU and Cincy. Also, Charlotte is a bit nicer than Memphis.

Not necessarily. Belk is very interested.

While they might be interested its really not up to them, the sec will more than likely send UT to Shreveport or Memphis. My money is on Memphis, unless bama gets beat then it will get sloppy.

Maybe UT can play La Tech in the Duck Dynasty Independence Bowl. It wouldn't be any different than playing Utah State.

I wouldn't complain about it but if UT were to lose this game it could hurt more than losing to say a Texas.

I'd like for Tennessee to be able to get revenge on North Carolina for the 2010 Music City Bowl.
