Dominick Wood-Anderson was dressed out at practice again today, but I haven't seen him take any contact again for the second consecutive day.

Jarrett Guarantano was wearing a rib protector today. Tennessee’s quarterback wasn’t as sharp as Tuesday, with his passing lack a bit of the usual zip. During the routes on air, the Vols mainly focused on slants and outs today. Unlike the past three weeks, we haven’t seen any back-shoulder throws in practice this week.

In an effort to save their legs, Tracy Rocker continues to limit the reps of his three seniors during individual work, as Shy Tuttle, Kyle Phillips and Alexis Johnson all took a period off while Kurott Garland, John Mincey, Ja’Quain Blakely and Paul Bain all received extra attention. Notably, after playing more than 30 snaps last week, Matthew Butler was working with the scout team today.

In the secondary, Micah Abernathy remains out, so Shawn Shamburger and Todd Kelly Jr. were getting most of the work at safety alongside Nigel Warrior. Interestingly, Trevon Flowers (collarbone) was off the bike and among his teammates.

Jeremy Banks was getting plenty of run at middle linebacker, taking reps alongside Daniel Bituli during one drill while Quart’e Sapp and Darrin Kirkland Jr. worked on pattern matching with the secondary. Freshman JJ Peterson continues to work with the outside linebackers.

I bet Banks has significant playing time this week at LB. Thats crazy he was playing RB last weekend. He must be a natural fit.

I also think JG doesn’t finish the game and we see more Chryst. I appreciate he is tough but if he is limited in any way they need to play Chryst. In Pruitt I trust though.

I dont want to get too carried away with the Banks move but it has the potiental to be great. I would rather deal with the growing pains this year as he learns the position than see somebody not live up to their potiental on the field because of a fumble issue.

With his mentality and size I think he could be a beast come next year. This move will also help change attitude of the entire defense, which currently features two linebackers who almost quit the team.

What has happened to Emmett Gooden? I thought he had enormous potential but he's been very quiet .
Read somewhere earlier in the season that his effort was not consistent but he had potential to be great if he could learn how to consistently give a 100% effort.

That seemed to be an issue with him in Junior College as well from the way he was portrayed on Last Chance U.

He weighs 210. Only way he sees much time is if we win in a blowout or 2 of our 3 MLB get hurt. Zero chance he's ready to step in and contribute with 4 days of practice at a totally new position.

Banks is a baller and has a fire about him. I think his attitude is just what the defense needs. Lord knows he likes it rough. He looks for someone to hit when he is running with the ball. Might as well let him hit the other guy that has the ball.

Funny because Pruitt said he could see him playing this week....

Sure didn’t give that same praise to JJP.....

We'll see, sounded like coach speak to me, just don't see him getting time over our 3 main MLBs. I'm Pruitt all the way so I'm with him no matter what he does with Banks. I think it's more of a move for next season than it is for a winning gameplan this Sat.

JG and JJ have great rhythm with the slant. It’s really not the prettiest, but JG throws its a little ahead and high, which is perfect for a strong armed receiver. As long as it’s man d in single coverage, JG will go there 10/10 times if he needs 7-10 yards.

Hes every bit of 230.
Ty is in the 205 - 210 range.
He's nowhere close to 230 lbs. He will be one day and he'll look nothing close to what he looks like now. He's the size of the top safeties right now, not even close to the size of any top MLB, not yet anyways.

This is what us’n professionals refer to as a disagreement. I’m upping the ante...he’s 235 if he’s a lb (pound or linebacker). 😏

Lol you only think Banks weighs 210? Are you kidding me? He weighed that as a Senior in High School. If not more.....
