80% chance of rain...

I think this is a huge plus for the Vols. We will want to slow the game down as much as possible. UGA will have to play more conservatively than they would like to as well.

The rain theoretically should have both teams keeping the ball on the ground which will eat up clock.

Unless we have a couple disastrous plays this should be a close game.

I'm going to show my age, but I remember a rain soaked and muddy Sanford stadium the year Curt Watson was the Vol's tailback. I was in the end zone bleachers watching huge holes being opened by our OL and Watson charging through. I opened my big mouth once too often and started yelling about those huge gashes and gaps. Finally I got deluged by debris from the hurt puppy dog fans. It was worth it. Ahhhh--those were the days!!!!!!

Rain always favors the underdogs. But....honestly with most of us Vol homers thinking it was gonna be a close game to begin with could mean this game gets real ugly real fast for us; or we "squeak" by em. GBO!! GV!!

I was there too with my dad and two neighbors. Rained the whole time.
Awesome game. The Crossville Comet ran wild that day.

Vegas has already moved the line from -14 to -12.5.
Not a huge jump but wouldnt be surprised if the weather was the main factor there
Money weighting toward Vols side is the only factor there, and of course that movement in money weighting is probably due to bigger money taking the points because of the forecast.

MO @ LSU, and Bama @Ole Miss could be interesting with weather as a factor.

Maybe the Vols will get a lead, the rain will start pouring cats and puppies, and we will start punting on first downs like that UT vs Auburn game (victory) so many years ago.

It neutralizes our long ball advantage of Stetson Bennett as he has weak arm strength.

We'll need to do a better job of protecting the ball for sure.

I still have nightmares about the 2002 Florida game so I never get excited to see a UT team play in the rain.
