Well....8 min to go....im crashin....I thought we had a very weak game plan....5 yrd outs dont win games.....If ainge cant throw down field...shouldnt be playin...Id rather lose with Crompton in there....defense looked the same....Cal isnt really that much better...our immaturity showed......see ya next week

makes no sense. the offensive game plan was fine. our inability to anything defensively (which starts with utter lack of any D line) was our downfall.

I'm absolutely embarrassed

you can't honestly blame the offense after this DISASTROUS defensive showing, are you? really????

why yes...why yes I am......u callin short yardage out plays good?.....no down field passes...because ainge aobviously cant throw deep with a broken finger.....so why is he playin......no deep balls......dump off passes all game...that is pathetic in my book

while the last thing i want to do is argue at this point, with a fellow vol, i'll just simply say that i respectfully disagree. ainge has thrown the ball downfield numerous times this game (with relatively no completion mind you, so you have a point there), however, the offense is the LEAST of our worries right now.

man...ainge has lobbed a couple balls over the middle with questionable calls on pass interference....other than that...its been all 5 yrd out out plays to the flats.....you cant win games without stretching the defense,.....that he did not do......why...because of his injusry..should have just started crompton who could at least have ran and thrown deep

What a shock. I can't believe that we played poorly just like we did against UK and Penn State.

stop with the frickin' ellipses please. the offense took what Cal allowed in dropping two deep all night. The 3rd and 15 checkdowns are annoying, but do make sense when nobody's open.

the real problem is the fact that we made Forsett look like the second coming of OJ.

To WHAT recievers???????????? Austin Rodgers????

It's completely obvious that our lack of (OPEN) recievers has been absolutely detrimental to any hope of a deep threat. I personally wouldn't be so quick to blame Ainge (or his pinky) for the lack of a downfield threat.

man...we ran the same crap all game....ainge was hurt...shouldnt have been in the game.....who cant get good passin stats throwin quik off the line stuff.....that doesnt win games.....defense looked like chavis was callin the plays from calhouns on the river....

Vols have no killer instinct. Ainge looked good, but throwing to the line of scrimmage on 3rd and 12 is just inexcusable.

You're kidding right? Ainge was the least of our problems.

No Im not kidding....Im not sayin ainge was our problem as much as the dam play callin...Im sayin he was limited in his ability....where was the deep ball?......

so let me get this straight.............. ........... .......... ........... ........... ....... .......... ........... Oops, got carried away because I like your style.

We should have been forcing the ball deep against a team playing deep zone and with our receiving corps. That makes a lot of sense. I think we were throwing beneath because we were padding stats for our QB. Historically big QB stats have gotten us exactly squat, so I can understand why you would thing that's what we were after.

The defense was an embarrassment and that was the reason we lost. After all of the talk about toughness and banging heads, we played softer than any Vol team I can remember and we payed for it.

When are people going to realize that the PAC-10 is known for not playing ANY defense...NONE...nobody in that league outside of USC should scare anyone defensively...I'm not so quick to annoint our offense as being good against Cal...that's like saying Louisville has a GREAT offense because they scored 73 against Murray State...I fully expected us to move the ball and put up points...

When are people going to realize that we DID put up points? Sure the PAC 10 isn't traditonally known for good defenses....Nor do I think that we saw a tough one tonight, Yes, we should've put up more points. Yes, the offensive game plan could've been a bit better here and there. However, it don't mean a damned thing when you have a defense who plays like ours did tonight. Period.

your not gonna beat many teams when you ask the offense to score 50 pts to win. Ainge cant throw downfield and UT's defensive line cant stop anyone, UT may not get past Southern Miss.

I'm not saying we didn't put up points...I said that I expected it...
