Agree 100%... but I did see several of their "great" run plays when an OL had their arms wrapped completely around a DL. The play at the end with the phantom snap infraction was one of the worst calls of the year.Gotta say that Banks and his defense were much more problematic than the refs in this one. Instead of looking for external causes for our issues, perhaps we should look within? I'd start with Banks and the defensive staff and players along with the man that assembled this coaching staff.
They committed about 12 to 15, got called for 3, one was in a situation where we accepted it. The ref was looking directly at the pass interference and didn't call it. We had to punt. The player from Arkansas clearly entered the neutral zone, then our center stood up, clearly that's on them and not a snap infraction. If a player enters the neutral zone and causes an OL to react, it's on the defense. Calling that a snap infraction was criminal. I've literally never seen that called on a center in a game in my life when someone was clearly in the neutral zone and caused the reaction.Arkansas is not good enough to only commit 1 penalty on the road in front of 100,000 people. Just don’t buy it.
Yeah. Its not just us either.
I actually feel sorry for Auburn. That game was atrociously called.
SEC better do something because this crappy refereeing is just making headlines more and more.
And I mean what is with the Kirby Smart bullcrap??? Someone in the head office is going to have to come down on his antics.
NFL hold their officials to higher standards and accountability and it is not just an apology to the team.I've said it before and I'll say it again, but this "incompetence" is intentional. They'd rather you call it incompetence than what it actually is- match fixing. You can't tell me what has happened repeatedly to Auburn isn't blatant.
College football invited Vegas in. This is what we all get. Happens in pro leagues, now it's happening to our sport.
I didn't mention the NFL. Look at the horrible umpiring in MLB. Look at the NBA which has had literal match fixing scandals. Soccer leagues all around start seeing this **** when the betting sites begin getting involved.NFL hold their officials to higher standards and accountability and it is not just an apology to the team.
The push where he hit the communications cart? He was in bounds when contact was made. To be fair I thought it was dirty initially as well but he was in bounds.I wanna see the out of bounds hit on Joey when he was three rows up in the student section again. Thanks Freak in Advance for getting the replay up.
I am not sure how they are doing it. I have always thought that professional sports have been take but mostly you see a decent product on the field. It's professional sports and it is a business terrible thing to think but possible. College is more assessable to this kind of manipulation of all sports. Not saying that the game is clean. Everybody makes mistakes. MLB is doing some policing with technology. Mistakes will be made but not as many as you see in all college sports. The ranking system in college sports is subjective unfortunately news, polls, and geography, all play as factors in the ranking system. Do you think these sports writers use any stats to do there rankings or is just eye wash?I didn't mention the NFL. Look at the horrible umpiring in MLB. You can't tell me that money isn't influencing this. Once leagues start taking private equity, there will be nothing to stop them from turning the sport into staged events that protect the big brands.
I don't think sports writers put any thought into the rankings other than thinking about themselves.I am not sure how they are doing it. I counted 3 false starts, an illegal formation, and then the snap infraction which i d thought that call was dumb because it was caused by defense in the neutral zone.
Agreed the snap infraction I wouldn’t count (horrible call) nor the delay of game before the punt.
Went back and checked and you were right. I forgot a couple of those plays.
But that snap infraction was huge. Would’ve been a first down. Probably means we run off at least another minute if not score.
…a review of the ‘23 “Travesty in Tuscaloosa” may be in orderIt was huge. Drive killing BS penalty
The blatant holds by the hogs Oline were ridiculous and so were several egregious Pass Interference calls that were never made. I have never seen a game in person that one sided...it was shameless. Don't know how much came thru on TV but the booooos were loud in person at least 7 or 8 times during the game. It was ridiculous and honestly I cannot believe that we won. We had to beat their team AND the entire SEC crew. It was ridiculous just like the Auburn game.
If anyone thinks we aren't gonna get screwed next week in the Bama game at night...they must be new to SEC ball.
