The administration, boosters and fans demand it. It's really that simple. UT has the $, tradtion, facilities and fan support to be great. But we have to many board members and boosters willing to accept mediocrity as long as they get photos and can attend parties and fans who will accept losing and defend a program that is so far from being what it once was and what "they the fans" think it is.
Tennessee football is an after thought once you get out of state. The only people outside the borders of Tennessee who even talk UT anymore is KY. That is unless they're laughing at us because they play us that week. Face it guys things are bad and it won't get better if we all continue to accept mediocre football. Next year we will probably win 7 or 8 games and everyone will exclaim "see, I told you we're getting better". 7 or 8 wins should be a bad year at UT. My fellow Vol fans join me in demanding greatness.
Now go ahead and flame away. But that's the reality of where we've fallen.
