Every time we hire a new coach we are disappointed.

I remember when we hired Dooley, I was like who the hell is that?

I remember when we hired Butch Jones I was thinking, "Didn't Dooley destroy him?"

I want Butch gone, but there is no way we hire a coach worth getting excited about.

We are stuck with Butch for at least one more season. Maybe the new AD will open up the checkbook.

I would consider Macintyre, Durkin, and Mullen all significant upgrades and all obtainable options for UT without breaking the bank.

Just who the hell did you have in mind? Last I heard, nobody named Saban, Harbaugh, or Meyer had put any feelers in about the job. Oh, I forgot, there's always Gruden. Jeeze! Give me a break!

I say get Les Miles while he is still out there. He has been around the SEC and knows what it takes. They will dick around for a year or 2 and there won't be a coach worth having.

So what is your option? Staying the course? :mf_surrender:

If they hire Saban or Harbaugh then I probably wouldn't be a Vols fan any more. I can't stand either one of them.

I'm with you I say go get Les Miles he would take this job and have us competing for East every year. Just make sure he brings in a proven OC like Kendall Briles, Kliff Kingsbury, Rich Rod, or steal one from competitors, then bring in Charlie Strong as DC.

If Blackburn gets put in and makes the hire there's a chance. Would you rather keep the guy who is winless against freaking Muschamp and is 2-2 against bleeping Vandy? I'll take my chances....try any of these. A few you'd have to open up the checkbook for but at this point we can't afford another 5 years of being in the cellar.

Jimbo Fisher
Chris Petersen
Ken Niumatalolo
Bob Stoops
Paul Chryst
Pat Narduzzi
Mike MacIntyre
Chip Kelly
Dabo Swinney
Lane Kiffin
Kyle Whittingham

My option is to quit drinking the self-delusion juice. Any coach is usually only as good as his coordinators. Debord is mediocre to acceptable. Shoop would need three promotions to make it to lousy. If Butch does what needs to be done, keep him another year; if not, he should be history.

We didn't go cheap with the DC hire like I figured they would. Shoop was a hot commodity. I'm curious to see what they would be willing to pay now to a HC.

Chip Kelly - The Saban similarities are uncanny. Flamming out as a pro coach. All he needs is the UT boosters to show up with enough money that he can't say no.

I think Kliff Kingsbury would be a badass OC

If you guys want to go big time then they could throw 8-10 million a year at Urban Meyer and see what happens. I don't care what anyone says, he is a damn good coach.
