We will beat florida

bowling green is not "much better" then eastern carolina

ecu has been pretty damn good for a cusa team just last yr they beat unc and va tech

we been hearing how your tall recievers are such an advantage for yrs now lolz

Our WR group looks great getting off the bus, looks great in warmups.....collectively big and supremely athletic....but are poorly coached, under utilized to say the least, and can virtually be ignored based on their productivity to date. If you guys stack the box and contain Dobbs and Hurd, you'll have no problem stopping our offense. Just the way it is.

Like another poster said...I'm not setting myself up again for disappointment. I hope that we can win, but I will have to see it. Win or lose, I'm still with the guys.

AhahahahahahahahahHahahhhahHHahahahHahHHahahahahahahahahHahh ....ahahahahahahahahahhahahhhahhhahahahhahhhahahahahahahahahhahh....! Ha!

I really wanted Butch to be the one to bring us back to glory but after last year's Florida and this year's Oklahoma game I just dont see it happening. Bad hires and conservative play calling just too much to overcome. It's a chronic issue not a one game mistake.

Vegas very accurate on Tennessee. That's got to change some year but for now they will be correct. Gators get mauled by cats then Vegas may give us a 1 point edge and we will win.

This is the game I have had circled all off season. Do I think we are a better team and should win? Of course by the eye test I think TN beats uf eyes out.

I just can not go on the eye test, on paper, etc, etc...

Last time TN beat uf it was a prayer, a miracle, the planets aligned!

TN finds a way to lose this one every year. Just think about it the last time TN beat uf I was a senior in high school. If I do remember correctly we scored to tie the game with just over 2 minutes left in the game, but hold on, no, no, no, he missed the extra point. (Insert profanity here) Thank God he did too because Leak was picking us apart the 2 series before, but since we missed the extra point they go to run the clock mode, TN gets a stop, and Wilhoit goes from being lynched to savior!

I hope it doesn't take something like this to beat uf again, but I just don't know anymore.

Has that ever been done? Has a visiting teams fans ever rushed the field? I think it would be awesome if there was enough fans

Figured I would throw it out there. Every big game where a "Storm the field" or "Tear down the goalpost" thread pops up we lose.

It would be interesting tho.

"Do we storm the field and tear down the goalpost?"

Has that ever been done? Has a visiting teams fans ever rushed the field? I think it would be awesome if there was enough fans

Yes! My dad was in Neyland wayyyy back when Chattanooga beat us and tore down OUR goalposts. He has told me and others his thoughts after folks often ask this question. I'll see if he can remember year.

He couldn't remember only late 50s and so I googled. I typed Chattanooga tear down Tennessee goalposts. The answer from several pages is NOVEMBER 8, 1958.

Floridas O line is in worse shape than Oklahomas. They are gona have a really hard time scoring points the conventional way against our defense. I know all too well that we always find a way to lose against them, but unless we give them defensive or special teams scores, we should win by 10+.

This is a quote from one of those articles that I was alluding to Chattanooga tearing down OUR goalposts a couple post ago^^.

As Moore delivered his victory speech, a number of fights were breaking out on the field between angry Tennessee supporters and jubilant Chattanooga fans. When a newspaper reporter brought this to Moore's attention, noting that UC fans tearing down the goal posts had instigated the unrest, Wilkes said Moore replied, "Why do they care? They didn't use them the whole game."

Ouch talking about BURN. That hurts me and I wasn't born yet. My dad was 23 when present at that game.

ECU comes up short against Florida | News & Observer

Three key numbers

4: The number of quarterbacks who participated in Saturday night’s game. East Carolina played Blake Kemp (34-54-1, 333, 1 TD) for a majority of the game, but gave backup QB James Summers (3-4, 13) a couple of snaps, while Florida rotated between freshman Will Grier (10-17-1, 151, 2 TDs ) and sophomore Treon Harris (5-8, 54).

13: The rushing yards East Carolina gained on 22 attempts versus a Florida front four that manhandled its offensive line.

2: Field goals inside of 40 yards that Gators kicker Austin Hardin missed.

Tell us again how good your secondary is. 346 passing yards allowed against ECU does not look good on you. But keep telling yourself that if it makes you feel better.

Let's see our All-American corner back didn't play and our #1 starting safety was out both with injuries. So down 2 starters. Still better than what you have, who Cam Sutton?!? That is it. Todd Kelly is good but is now hurt. Watch the game or get the details before you post next time.

Agree for the most part, seriously doubt you have a better LB than Jalen Reeves-Maybin although he's the only LB of note on our roster right now, so your LB corps is likely overall a good bit better.

Btw, we don't have a #1 receiver.... not sure if we have a #2 WR at the moment.

I love Jalen Reeves-Maybin. Saw him single handedly beat Josh Malone's Station Camp team Josh's junior year in the playoffs. I only mentioned that we have Antonio Morrison who is back for his senior year.

Pretty sure their Secondary will be a little more stout with Hargreaves and Keanu Neal back. Neither played against ECU. That's an All-American CB and All-SEC safety.

Let's put it this way, it's the exact same Secondary that played in Knoxville last year, they lost nobody. So if you think their Secondary sucked last year, then you won't be impressed this year either. Your prerogative.

Well said....this is exactly what I said to him. Check the stats before you pop off on my team. Thanks for the backup. Like I say it wouldn't surprise me at all if Tn wins but it won't be a blowout but I like our d and our chances at home. Last year was the year to definitely get us in my opinion.

Does getting on here and complaining help you?

If you think Tennessee is so bad, why not just stop watching?

Do the real fans of the University of Tennessee a favor, and leave.
