We will beat florida

I hate to say it but at this point I'm having a bad feeling about this season.

1: I called 9 wins and I'm always a game or two over. If things go as usual we will wind up with a 7 win season.

2: Florida is actually winning a few games and have the ball rolling. It seems that coach is slightly more efficient than I thought.

3: it's not the coaches fault, it's because we are fielding so much youth and inexperience, but that won't stop the hordes from attacking Butch and distracting from his job.

4: I'm honestly having my doubts about the whole season right now. There isn't much we can do until these guys get the experience they need, and we get dormady rolling.

5: I was calling Butch out from his very first games about not going for it on fourth and short. I got called a drunk (maybe that part was true). ...

There is no doubt in my mind that we beat Florida soundly. This team is very good.

Define very good please??? A secondary that has one good safety and one good corner. A defensive line that gets very little pressure after all the hype early. A scrambling qb that does better at that than pass the ball down the field?!? A receiving corp that doesn't scare anyone yet.

Yeah very sound, complete team to me.

Joshua Dobbs 13/31 125 4.0 1 1

Sorry just being realistic....

Ya Dobbs isn't a good passer past 7 yards but I think he can improve. Our defense is top 9 in the country.

Anybody see their second game? I don't even know who they played. If so, how did they look? I saw their opener against (SDSU?) but considering theit competition its hard to gauge how good they were.

Thanks in advance

I am not saying we are world beaters by any stretch but I definitely think we are better than last year and the game is at home.

Up 10 in the 4th quarter and Florida storms back to win in double OT 21-20 when Medley shanks a chip shot FG attempt.

Maybe I should start a thread "How do we blow the Florida game this year?"

We played East Carolina, our bowl opponent from last year and had hiccups in the offense like you guys. 2 missed chip shot fgs, 2 fumbles lost. Was closer in the score than how it really looked. 2 unsportsmanlike penalties after touchdowns that hurt as well.

We are a better team than Florida..
We have played 2 MUCH better teams than Florida has...
Our "young" kids have now been in the fire of a close games...
Hurd will get 100+ and you will see a minimum of 5 screens to Kamara...
We will throw deep minimum of 7 times in the game to stretch the field..
Our "young" defense will be ready as they will prepare for 2 weeks for this team and have been all year.
Butch has had this game circled for a year.

Dobbs has not been on yet.. he will be
All our receivers will be healthy and ready to go.. This is huge as we are taller than Florida secondary..

This thread is like throwing a steak to a starving vegetarian. I want to jump in and relish the idea, but can't quite stomach it.

After last year's loss and last week's inability to do jack squat in the second half, Im not getting my hopes up.

After watching this game over the last 25 years, I'm becoming more convinced that we could dress the Pittsburgh Steelers up in our uniforms and we'd lose. Oh, and that's with me coaching Flarduh.

I just hope our freeeee-kun coaches remind Dobbs to watch for the corner blitz from the short side of the field. <smh>

Then your receivers should be doing better against lesser talent. UF's secondary is the best they will face all year.
Hargreaves is lockdown at 5' 11"
Tabor is 6' and Wilson is 6' 1"
Will be a tough matchup for sure for them to get going if Dobbs can't get them the ball sooner or in space.

Look at it this way, how bad would oklahoma, a team we should have beaten, best Florida? You people act like we just lost to western Kentucky or something. Yes I have my doubts about Florida simply because of the mental factors but we are a better team

I've said that for many of the past few years. Was at game at UF last time with both teams tried to give it to the other, and after last year's debacle, I fear UF is just in our heads...

...Anyway, I will not ever state that we will beat UF, until we have shown the ability to beat them in recent memory. Heck, my kids were all in elementary school the last time we beat UF.

Not it's not....currently dead last, 14th in total defense in the SEC, giving up 453 yds per game. That being said factually, our defense is much better than that stat suggests. But there's just no evidence to back up your statement they're we're "top 9 in the country" right now. Lol.

Between crowd noise, your defense and our offensive ineptitude, I don't see us scoring over 17 points (if that). So can the Gators score more than 17 on our D? I have a feeling McElwain can exploit our secondary if his QB is given time. We shall see, I don't like our chances.

At some point the law of averages will take hold and we will win one of these match ups. I doubt it will be because we are a better coached team. Just the way it is.
