We will BEAT BAMA

Tebow didn't throw it downfield because no one was open.UCLA didn't beat us with the passing game...Crompton & his infinite amount of turnovers did. Did you watch either game or do you not know squat about football?

First of all, thought the Vols played a good game against UF! So, is the Vols better than we thought or is Florida not as good as hyped? As for Bama, let's just take it a game at a time! Still alot of football left and Miss. & LSU make me nervous. Where playing you at home this year, but still have to respect ya......

Just like we beat UCLA at home? Please, we just lost for the fifth straight time to a VERY overrated Florida. We lost because our so-called great coaching staff played to keep it "respectible" rather than playing to win.

But, keep sipping the Kiffin Koolaid. At least it puts you in a better mood after going 1-2 than those of us who've abstained from the bitter-almond-flavored drink.

Bleck!

Why...

Just wait till after the bama/tenn game you will really be hating me! :)

i don't know if anyone told you or not but after seeing your username, we require the wearing of tampons if you are going to whine around here. Even Johhny Feckless had to get stuffed. :tease2:

Your staff did a great job of preparing your team for UF. Kiffin played it close to the vest offensively to limit putting Crompton in too many bad situations. He played to your strengths D and the running game and kept it close. UT exposed the Gators a little and let it be known, they aren't invincible as the talking heads have proclaimed.

You guys are a QB away from being a Top 10 team. But with Crompton I think you'll stay well outside the Top 25. JMO.

I disagree, UT has the edge at running back. And another IMO, Mcelboy hasnt proved anything yet, lackluster performance against VT - their only competition thus far

On the contrary, McElroy has proven a lot. Perhaps you didn't watch the Va Tech-Bama game. McElroy threw for 230 yards against a good defense. He did throw one interception (the only one he has thrown in three games). Bama got nearly 500 yards total offense on VT.

I'm not getting into an argument about the Bama-UT game. But at least get your facts straight about McElroy. He's an excellent QB, but he also has a lot of talent around him. That's a huge advantage.

Lackluster first half. In the second, he was danged near perfect. I'm going from memory here, but it was something like three completions in the first, three incomplete passes (with one of those a throwaway) in the second. He hasn't looked back since. The observation about opponent quality is valid, but you can still learn things from a glorified scrimmage. Saturday, his only incomplete pass in the first half was a cold, stone drop of what would have been a TD by the third team tight end.

As a Bama fan, my question is why wasn't this kid playing last year?

Although the record doesn't reflect it, UT's vastly improved from last year. Organization seems much better and the team has a look of purpose about them. It isn't something tangible, but you can just taste the difference. Very much like the transition from Shula to Saban - you knew things were on the right path. That truly sucks 'cause I wanted Kiffin to fall flat but it doesn't look like that's going to happen.

All in all, Eric Berry gives UT an edge in the secondary and most any high school squad on up has the edge on Bama in kick coverage but otherwise on paper Bama's even or better in every other facet of the game. I hate to say it, but it looks like epic third Saturday battles are on their way back - just not this year.
