I don't know about winning big. But at this point I'd take winning by 3-7 points rite now. 👍

If we win every game it takes to get to the SECCG by 1 point, I'll live with it and with a smile on my face.:)

I'm not so confident. App State just showed all of our opponents that if they shut down our run game, they have a great shot at beating us if we are forced to pass. I don't want to judge Dobbs or Debord on this one game. Maybe Dobbs was just not prepared to have to pass because they didn't expect App State to be able to shut down our run. Or, maybe Dobbs has just not improved at all and we're going to struggle big time in the passing game again. Debord called like what, 6 plays last night? I have to hope that he was just keeping the playbook shut, but I'm not going to lie I'm really concerned.

Did we run the counter play - pulling tackle / TE to get some blockers down field? If we did, I missed it,

If Isoroku Yamamoto (Commander-In-Chief of the Japanese Fleet) was alive today I think he would say the same thing he said after Pearl Harbor:

"I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve"

Go get um!!

Aint no one scared of us right now. You know the whole country was watching us last night to see if the hype was true, and they found out that we were not what was being told.

I don't give a counterfeit nickel what other people think about us. I care about how amped up and refocused the men in Orange are.

Book it

I predict a 42-14 win, but please stop with the "book it" **** like you Nostrdomus or something. Your last "book it" was wrong and you're even referring to it in this thread.

Perfect opening game to wake the monster.

Check my post history - when I say book it - I mean BOOK IT. Called the Georgia win last year.

Again, I'll take any and all tickets that are being sold at face value from those that fell off the wagon.

BOOK IT

Doesn't CBJ always say you see the team make the biggest strides between games 1 and 2?

"Hope" is not a strategy, but here's to hoping you and Butch are right.

Last nights game was a perfectly planned smoke screen. Now everyone will overlook us.

Is your other screen name Bob Mueller? BTW, weren't you one of the geniuses that called Florida and Alabama wins?

:eek:lol:

IMO, everybody needs to take a step back, and let the players work it out. Last night was a reality check. And they survived it. Some of their egos got deflated, which may have been needed. When breaks went against them, they didn't put on more steam. They hung their heads. Good news? They figured out how dumb that is.

I'm glad the hype took a step back. The BS was too loud for them to shut it out. Now, they can put last night behind them, learn plenty from it, and take the General's maxims to heart rather than as words to just quote habitually.

The next stomping probably will be Ohio-- assuming, of course, DeBord calls more than six plays and allows Dobbs to throw the ball.

I take pleasure in the reactions of people who, when faced with unyielding reality, finally realize that what they want or believe to be true, has absolutely no effect whatsoever on the truth. Accept the mediocrity and enjoy the show.

I'd rather Florida overlook us anyway. I want us to play pissed off.

never works in sports. Emotional highs don't last for very long and can be counter-productive anyway. I'll never forget: First game of the varsity football season when I was a sophomore in high school. Away game against a fairly tough opponent. Our coach blew the roof off our locker room with a loud and impassioned pre-game speech. We charged out on the field breathing fire--I thought, those poor suckers we're playing are TOAST--and by early in the second quarter we were losing 0-21 and everybody was standing on the sidelines thinking, WTF?

I think the Battle at Bristol is going to be the ugliest, sloppiest game played in college football this year.

I'm worried because Fuente I'm sure has made their offense better and more dynamic. Foster still runs the defense and it will be solid.

I kind of agree with you on this. We are going to take our frustrations out on VT. VT is also not as good of a team as App State in terms of RPI ranking. App State was 46th coming into the game last night & VT was in the high 50's I believe. VT is also a better matchup I feel than App State.

I think we run & pass the ball well against VT. Hurd will get well over 100 years & Dobbs will pass for over 250 yards. I would say the point spread will be somewhere between 14-17 point favorites for us. I think we do cover that this coming week. We have no excuse to not be ready.

We weren't ready last night & that's on Butch & company. App State folks is a pretty darn good team. I say they'll win the Sun Belt & go to a good bowl game again. The will go at least 10-2. They might not lose another game but I haven't looked at their schedule. I feel even before we play VT that App State is the better team of the two. I think we lay it on VT pretty good. I'm going to say 34-10.

There is a thing called talent - VT don't have it

Can't wait for Saturday so some of the other fanbases stop squeeking about us and see their own teams' problems.

One or two SEC teams will lose.
