We should keep Butch because:

One thing all theses schools who want new coaches don't seem to know, is that for every team that goes 12-0, another team must go 0-12. Somebody has to be the loser.

Every team can't win every game unless maybe we just don't keep score and give out participation trophies. That way there are no losers and nobody gets their feeling hurt.

This is a tough sport and very competitive. I look at it this way, CBJ has most likely played since he was in grade school, got educated and began coaching, and knows more about X's and O's than 99% of anyone who reads this forum. If it was that easy, don't you think CBJ would have more success. I agree Butch needs to go, but at least give the man some respect for trying. He has done nothing to deserve the poor treatment he has received. I love winning, but in the grand scheme of things it's really not that important. Would you want to be treated like CBJ's has been treated? What if it was your Dad, or your child?

He got paid a dump truck load for trying.

He 'll get another dump truck load for failing.

When they cease keeping score it will cease to be important.

1. We will save money ( true) 2. He has run a clean program , as far as known. 3. He has a good class lined up for next season ( maybe) 4. Currie is new in the job and a hiring mistake would get him fired ( maybe) 5. Butch may win out , which would silence 50% of critics. ( not likely, maybe 30-1?) 6. Freakish number of injuries ( true) 7. For every Saban out there, there are 5 Ogerons and worse ( maybe) 8. Ut is rolling in money because of FB profits ( if it aint broke leave it alone ) 9. Many Vol fans are acclimated to losing after the last 10 years and change would make them uncomfortable 10. He is all we deserve, cause we are a basketball school anyway( i made afunny) . Ok snarks have at me. 11. the team will quit as the Gators did.
You know? I listen to Uncle Lou a lot and this is something he would say. Now, I’m not saying this is , but come on man!! Georgia??

Butch has brainwashed a good majority of our fanbase into believing it’s ok to be mediocre.

What a joke.

One reason for keeping butch, even though it is 100% negative, UT is getting a lot of press! There isn't a sports show of any kind that does not laugh-and make fun of the Vols, even the talking heads have office pools on when butch gets fired! For those that think any press is good press-we're getting a lot of press...................:hi:

I don't know if I would watch more than a game or two if they kept him. Would definitely not make a knoxville trip, and would lose interest overall like I did in 2012.

After the first few games that year, I started watching the game like I sometimes watch a BiG 10 or ACC game, turning the game on and doing other stuff during the game, walking by checking on score, sometimes leaving during the game to do family stuff etc.

I remember DVR a couple and deleting them without watching cause I had heard the score already, or received one of those dreaded dvr killing texts "dude wtf tenn lost to kentucky did you see that ****?".

Just disinterest. I havent been like that since Dooley was fired, and hadnt got there yet this season, though the southern miss game was possibly the most boring unrewarding game I've ever seen.

My usual game ritual involves no eating or cooking or food prep during game times, no conversation unless its directly related to play on the field, or other relevant, game appropriate exclamations. No young kids crying babies, bama fans or friends who have a lesser interest in the vols or different game viewing habits.

I was invited to a friends house to watch the game one time, and they played poker throughout their game, they couldnt understand why I didnt want to join in the poker game. Like I was the weird one.

"What you don't like to play poker?"

"Not during a Vol game."

"Well thats we always do."

To me thats just plain wrong, like getting a lap dance at church.

That would signal to the world that Tennessee isn't serious about winning football games anymore.
Everyone says he's ran a clean program lol.
Ask Daniel Helm
Ask Drae Bowles
Ask Jalen Hurd
Ask Brett Kendrick
Ask any other player Butch has totally screwed during his tenure his.
Keeping him would be a death nail for this program.
Wake up.

All the injuries are a direct reflection of the head coach and his terribl decision to fire Dave Lawson.
