I have optimism ANYBODY, freshman, soph, junior or senior is better than this lump. I have great appreciation that he is a VFL. I am super impressed he plays hurt. I love the fact Trey loves him...Whatever...when all is said and done. ,he's killing us. He is a bad, bad QB. If we had a decent QB, we would have won by 14 to 21 points...period.I think you are better off getting comfortable with that idea that JG will play significant time next year. I don't have a lot of optimism that a true freshman is going to come in and push out a senior QB with 2.5 seasons as the starting QB under his belt.
Talent is great, but experience is often better.
For example - Alabama. The story is that Tua was crushing it in practice for a long time and he was still riding the bench behind an inferior Jalen Hurts. It took an injury to Jalen before Tua could finally get on the field and seize the starting spot.
We won the game...thanks to JJ, Eric Gray, other backfield, defensive line, the big cajones of Pruitt on kick offs....no thanks to some of the worst QB play I've ever witnessed. He simply doesn't have the temperament for the moment. Coaching might work for him.Cool thread! Wish we would have won the game!
JG must be the greatest practice player in the history of football because the coaches seem to love him.I have optimism ANYBODY, freshman, soph, junior or senior is better than this lump.
