WE HAD OUR CHANCE TO WIN.....On the last play of the game, when time had run out, we had a linebacker in position to stop the LSU running back at the two yard line and he simply missed the tackle..... :good!:

Stop the 4th and 14 and its a non issue. Or convert the 4th and 1 and we run the clock out. It is what it is, on to UGA.

You are right though, Nick was in good shape to stop the RB short, just over ran it.

AGREED, and I wasnt convinced he made it to the endzone. I would love to see a view from a different angle. Looks as if he got stood up right at goal line. DOesnt mattter now, I know.

Still proud to be a Tennessee Vol..

Look we got alot of players that probaly would not be playing if we had more players. M.Teague was a reciever last year. He is only playing his 5th game at D-1 football. I think he is doing a good job. The play i didn't like was the first play of the game for LSU when the QB ran for 80+ yds. We had a db right there and he fell to ground and didn't even touch the QB.

He also didn't make a play on 4th and 14 when he was in position

He also missed a tackle on the 83 yard run

etc etc

Waggner played worse than Nick.

Nick did miss the final tackle. Instead of being ripped for it, people are posting the picture of him crying after the game.

I will say that the guy knew the mistake he made and that is worth something. Nothing worse than a kid who costs you the game with a fumble who acts like it is not his fault.
Or a QB whose INTs cost the game who acts like it is not his fault either.

Nick takes his responsibility. He is undersized and plays intelligently most of the time. The bottom line is that he is not the big problem on the team, but we do as a fan base play favorites...

Because of his faith I believe that Nick will use what happened to drive him to even better things.

We win 5 more games regular season and a bowl. He is one of the biggest reasons why.

I'm not a Nick Reveiz fluffer, but he missed the tackle in the backfield because he dove to get around the fullback. That left him on his stomach with a small chance to reach up and bring the guy down. He didn't. Had he just barreled forward, the fullback absorbs him and you probably have the same outcome. Had he made the play, it would have been outstanding. I don't think failing to make it is really cause for ridicule.

Actually the D did a decent job of stopping the runner that play..just got a half yard too much.

As stated ad nauseum...the 4th and 1 on O, the 4th and 14 on D, the phantom PI, and the inability to defend stupid (substitution chaos) were much more central factors.

It was Nick Reviez who should have made the stop.

Because I do not like calling out players ..... I did not name him, I did not start this thread to bash a player, only wanted to say that they were many opportunities to win the game.... NOT JUST the screwed up confusion of one

No replay needed. He crossed the goalline. Honestly, had the 13 on the field not given them an extra play plus a yard, he wouldn't have scored.

We had several chances to win this ballgame. We just missed on a few key plays and it cost us. TN played hard but just couldn't pull it out in the end.

There was a lot of things that should have happened, but it didn't. Chalk this L up, learn from your mistakes, and move foward. It's obvious this team has a lot of heart, and is tired of the negative talk. They will surprise a lot of us by the end of the season

On that 83 yard run I believe the only two that missed chances to tackle Jefferson were Waggner and Thomas...I'd have to go back and review the tape though...

I mentioned the fact that Reviez failed to make the tackle on the final play of the game in the "Nick Reviez Appreciation" thread...

Nobody wants to hear it though...

I believe Reviez bleeds Orange...I believe he "wants it"...I believe if everyone on the team played as hard as Reviez does the Vols would be in good shape...

But, he missed a tackle that would have made him legendary...It is what it is...
