Leach or Brohm. One of those two would give us an elite offense. Both coaches can develop players. Go out get an elite DC and call it a day. Unfortunately, I think Fulmer wants complete control and either of those two coaches with Fulmer is like mixing water with oil. End this circus! But don't settle!

Really surprised Fulmer didn't reach back out to Brohm again to gauge interest. Not surprised on Leach as he does not seem like a Fulmer kind of guy.

Just remember that if Brohm or Leach had been hired when they were first being considered, Currie would still be the AD and much drama would have been missed.

Why were they not hired?

Good question. They're both more than qualified for the job. I think it's an ego thing with Fulmer. I had a feeling this all would happen. I wanted Blackburn for AD and this type of situation we're in is why.

If we hired one of them now, our firing Currie for cause defense would be "cause we wanted to after you found us a coach"

Leach is a nut ball, a loose cannon that no administrators wants to represent their school and state. Guy is way too negative and a bully to have around young men.

Never coming to Tennessee, no way, no how.

Perhaps that's what we need. Unlike Bamboos and Bricks.

This post hurts my soul. We had both of them if we wanted them. And we're somehow ending up with neither.

Brohm especially would have fit in so well here too.

And yet the fans, players and the media love him. For some crazy reason schools keep him a long time and he wins alot. And most important hes the best proven coach that WANTS to come to this dumpster fire!!

Unfortunately, no one sees us this way. They look at us as a dumpster fire and total embarrassment. Fulmer got that good ole boy network on speed dial.

The question now becomes, was losing out on Brohm and Leach worth Fulmer replacing Currie and Jimmy Haslam losing some of his decision-making power (we think/hope)? My answer had been yes but now looking at this pool of candidates we seem to be choosing from, I'm not so sure.

This coaching search is making me go crazy. For the entire search my biggest thing has been that Haslam had to go. He was public enemy #1 for me and anything we could do to oust him was worth it.

And now that it appears we MAY have done that, I even find myself questioning that. It is the very foundation of what I believe has been wrong with this program for the past decade plus. I swear I've flip-flopped on everything the last 2 weeks.

Right. Unfortunately, looks like Fulmer is going to get a 59 year old coach in Steele that every coach in the SEC knows his tendency's. That's really thinking outside the box, huh? Fulmer being Fulmer aka Good ole boy network.

Yup. Would be a total disaster if that's the hire. I'm willing to give Fulmer benefit of the doubt until the hire is made but signs are certainly not pointing in positive directions right now.

If it's Steele, we're back here doing this again real soon. The only silver lining is that maybe the next search will be free of Jimmy Haslam's grimy little hands from the start, instead of after we've already been turned down by half the Power 5 head coaches.

It f****** kills me but the fact is we gonna hire a coach that has nothing bad in their past,a coach that will conform and bow down to the money men be it the boosters, which means we probably gonna get a Derek Dooley or ***** Jones again. We live in the bible belt a Christian state we are suppose to forgive Thy brother love our enemies but we are not Christian enough and forgiving enough to give Lane Kiffen a second chance we live in a state of hypocrites.
