We should be having Louisville's season

Before Petrino was hired at Louisville I remember someone making the comment on this site about Tennessee hiring him. Someone else made the comment that Petrino would likely win here, but it would be like watching your daughter win an award for pornstar of the year. I think that describes it well.

We are... We have the same record... 3-0

Iowa was a much better team than us last year because they had 3 more wins than we did. That is how college football works. A win is a win and nothing else matters

This ladies and gentlemen is what we call "hitting the nail on the head". You would think after Kiffin our fan base would know better than to demand a win at all costs mentality.

Drunk, fat, and stupid is no way to go through life. Do you drink so early every day? I am going to give you a sobriety test to see how drunk you are. How many fingers am I holding up? Please post response below.

The one craming your cramhole LaFleur :)

You shouldn't put people down and belittle them to make yourself look better. Its not cool. They are my Vols too ok lol We all love and want the best for them. Again, stop assuming so much.

None of that makes you any more of a fan than the guy who never went to UT and stayed home to watch it. The game plays out the same whether you go to the game or not.

many people on here have never stepped foot in a classroom at UT. He'll take Roger from the call in show, that dude leaves and breathes UT football. So many people that are fans have watched or been to more Tennessee games before you ever started to go to school than you have in your life. Jeez, get off your high horse

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!! :dance2:

You call them a "bunch of clowns"....you better expect a strong response. So if the Vols go 5-4 the rest of the season can we assume you will go root for Louisville?

Good grief it's a game with kids. You might want to find a different hobby.

It's a multi million dollar deal for coaches and Universities. Most states in the country have their football coach as the highest paid public employees. It kind of is a big deal.

Who cares?! Do you really think I'm actually saying they wear carnival outfits and makeup and spit out jokes? Come on man, you are making a mountain out of a mole hill lol Ive been following this program since the upper 80's...why would that change now? Ive had to face the 5-7 seasons...Dooley days....hell these are the good times compared to those days. Ill never turn on my alma mater...never. Number one love in life.

Very true and in every instance, I will put character at the top of the list for any candidate being considered to coach my alma mater, but I have to confess that there are times when I waiver a bit. Watching the cards decimate FSU was one such moment.

Because Butch hired an old crony to be OC whose salad years were in the old Big 10, 20 years ago! Three yards and a cloud of dust and then a swing pass to Kamara!

Yeah, I just said that! lol Do they not look lost? Are they not bumbling? Mental lapses, boneheaded penalties, shoddy secondary (aka Moseley he freaking sucks). Id like to see exactly what you saw this past Saturday against Ohio.

Not a Vol fan? hahaha You got the wrong guy junior

My favorite WTF moment so far this season has to be team captain JRM getting ejected week 1 for targeting. Then in week 2 he should have gotten ejected again when he launched himself into a Hokie after a fumble. Big pile on the ground, play is clearly over, Hokie just standing looking at the pile, JRM launches into him from behind for a dirty hit. I guess JRM didn't review the part of targeting that covered launching yourself into a defenseless player. No discipline what so ever. And why is Foreman, a senior, acting like a freshman and breaking team rules and getting suspended. Too many selfish players on this team for it to be good

I haven't been excited by the type of play, some criticism is just.
Be be honest though, it's gone a bit far.
We've played three teams we should have handled but we played poorly. The number of threads and the level of hyperbole in them, has been on par with us losing to one of them.
Maybe 2.

Criticism yes. Full-on meltdown should at least wait till a loss.

Dooley was brought in because he was a high character guy. The NCAA put us on probation so Dooley was brought in because he wouldn't waver on character issues and running a clean program. At the end of the day I hang with my coach on Saturday and my pastor on Sunday and I could care less if they act the same.

Really think this team and staff bought into the hype. They lost that hunger...that edge. As you astutely pointed out, there are signs that this team has slipped mentally. The penalties, the fumbles, etc. It smacks of a team not focused on the goal. They play soft and sloppy. They've not shown much in the way of the passion and desire that we had expected. Can they regain that edge? Certainly. Can they get it back by Saturday? I have my doubts. Usually in cases like this, they have to lose something of great importance before they're shaken ....truly shaken to the point of serious change. They'll get that defining wake up call at some point soon. The question is will it be before or after our goals go up in smoke?

I agree. It has been so long since we were truely competitive with the SEC big boys, and the longer it lasts the more anxious I get. It is especially bad when things line up for a big season and I let my expectations get the best of me only to witness my team struggle against lesser foes. It is enough to ask yourself "Does the moral character of a coach really matter if they are winning?"

Plus 1 Charger. Very well stated.

Just because Lamar is the darling of college football now doesn't mean he will win the Heisman, just remember Fournette from last year
