We really need a coach that uses John Harbaugh techniques

He took a 49er team with a bunch of rejects and got them to the nfc champ game.

By rejects I assume that you mean several first round picks that started in yesterday's game including two OL from the 2010 draft and a certain DE that had quite an impact in his rookie season this year.

I think I know what you were trying to say, but the Niners are not a team of rejects. Tons of talent that needed direction and got it.

LOL that's JIM . John is with the Ravens

Jim is showing he can COACH his a$$ off put Stanford on map now take a 49ers team Noone thought could win and PUT them in NFC Championship game .

Good Luck Jim

Well Jim's a great coach but there's some revisionist history going on here. Actually most people saw the 49ers as a very talented team who wasn't playing to their potential with a question mark at QB. Smith has more than answered the bell at QB and Jim is coaching this team to the level or higher where they should be.

If Dooley fails next season, Tennessee should get out the checkbook, and make him an offer that he can't refuse to become the next HC at UT. This is the best way to restore the Vols to glory, and compete with LSU, Bama and the other top teams in the SEC, and Nation.

Is this a serious post? Maybe my sarcasm meter is broken. Either gunner is trying to be funny or he has lost grip with reality. Why would a 1st year NFL coach who just took his team to the NFC Championship game (maybe further, we'll see) come to Knoxville? One good reason. Just one.

Before you say money, just remember, the NFL is capable of writing checks too.

Dooley seemed to be very complimentary of the team in pre-season making commments like they looked like an SEC team, bigger and faster. Not sure at what point he stopped?

He treated all the players at Stanford like they were gods gift to the ncaa and see what happened. He took a 49er team with a bunch of rejects and got them to the nfc champ game. All he does mostly is tell them how great they are and treat them with utmost respect. Maybe DD should try that instead of saying how the players suck and are not very good. How about UT is the greatest place on earth!!! How about getting our player to perorm 2-3 levels above what they actually are. Mootivation is the key!! No more we're not battle tested talk. No more we're not very deep. No more we're really young. Fired up the troops and make them want to fight for you and UT.

How about I put YOU on permanent ignore? Consider it done. If the truth hurts, so be it. Maybe it will motivate the non-performers. You're the same type of VOL fan, if you really are one, who'll be jumping on the bandwagon next year.

Niners are perfect example of what good coaching can do. Anyone thinking that coaching isn't important to the outcome of football needs to look at this teams record.

It might help if we start showing some of that suggested respect for our coaches. If respect and appreciation by the coaches works for the players, that same respect and appreciation from the fans just might motivate the coaches also.

Too many folks on here didn't appreciate Dickey, hated Battle, had contempt for Majors, despised Fulmer, bad-mouthed Kiffin and now for many of those same folks its Dooley's turn to be castigated. Irrespective of what is happening on or off the field, armchair quaterbacks always have a better game plan, better coaching techniques, are better recruiters and are even better clock managers. They apparently see themselves as having omniscient knowledge of all things relating to the game of football with their overly self-inflated opinions of themselves. The reality is that most arm-chair quaterbacks are relegated to their positions as arm-chair quaterbacks because no one wants them as coaches. Its time to stop the mindless criticism and start supporting the entire team and that includes the coaching staff.

We already have a coach.

This post is horrible on so many levels. Not even counting getting the coach's name wrong. Lets step back from the keyboard and get back to the crayons. K thx cya.

It would be great if Dooley has learned his lesson. If you continually tell players they suck eventually they will believe you. How about taking all the responsibility for a loss and not throwing your players under the bus. I can only hope he gives the players positive feedback this year.

And the Colts are a perfect example of what can happen when you have a good team with talent and you loose the nucleus of your team.

Sometimes people behave how you talk and treat them. If you treat them like they're weak then guess what? EVery team has to cross that line, how about treating them like winners and then saying those negative things after the game is over. I think we expect to lose because of the environment. Ten year ago we were winning because we expected to.

That's a big reason why the program is in the shape it's in now. Fulmer and friends expected just to tee it up and "out-player" the competition with superior talent. They (Fulmer and friends) lost their fire and hunger while resting on their laurels.
