We owe UNC fans and players an apology for throwing trash at them

Plastic bottles thrown aren't a risk to anyone's health. I saw no glass beer bottles being thrown.

I am just as "religious" are you guys are but it's not a claass act to do stuff like that, it just shows how disrespectful you are to people. I was just as angry as you guys are but I didn't throw a "temper tantrum" because I was displeased I explained to the wife and kids what happened, my opinion in a classy way and walked off to the pitstop.

Well, you obviously deserve a pat on the back for being better than everyone else and a superior human being in every way. Congratulations.

Your classy self must have missed the part where I said I didn't throw anything. I also didn't throw a temper-tantrum. But I'm not about to log on to a comp and tell ppl who to and why they should apologize. Get over yourself. If you're "above" that kinda thing, good for you. Don't judge others actions tho. I will admit that I joined in and even boosted the "Bull-Shat" chants. And the boo's that drowned out the OT rules. Given the same scenario, I'd do it again. Hell, I might even throw something next time.

A UNC fan in his car taunted a group of us saying, "How about them Tar Heels!" He quieted down after we threatened to slash his tires.....So eff apologies

Not my thread, just voicing my opinion just like you guys....

I'm certainly not calling for any apologies to the NC fans. I wasn't there, don't know what happened in the stands so I'm not casting stones (no pun intended) on anyone.

I simply hate it for all the fans and workers there (regardless of which side). Not not you want to see represented by a top notch university fan base. I'm not trying to take shots or be "high and mighty". Just not a good situation for anyone.

Yeh, neither is screwing a top-notch univ out of a bowl game. Ya know?

The place was nuts.

Yep.

Also, I'm 91% sure that LP field only sold plastic beer bottles and canned beer so there was absolutely no threat of an empty container threatening bodily harm on them. So chill out with the "we could have hurt someone"

I don't care how you feel about the refs and the calls, our fans were wrong for throwing bottles and cups at their sideline. That's not how we should carry ourselves, and we embarrassed our school tonight by acting like that.

I'll probably get crucified for this thread, but I feel that we were very out of line tonight.

I love the Vols.
I went to school at UT.
I thought we got cheated tonight.
I wasn't happy at all.

I still don't think that it was right to throw things at their players.

We got f******. I'll throw something at your mom. I wasn't there....just sayin'. Happy New Year.

I couldn't believe how brash the UNC fans were after being handed such a gift of a victory and being outnumbered 10 to 1 in the middle of Tennessee. There were 3 dudes standing in the skybox deal with the window open straight taunting the vol fans filing out. Like pointing, laughing, and jeering in the "safety" of the skybox. Then they started getting pounded with objects and had to retreat and shut the window. I thought one guy was about to climb up there and stomp them.

I did feel a little bad for the kids, 2 behind me were in tears when all of this was going down. Although I think it was more because of the unjust feeling of the screwjob than being scared of the bottles. I guess I don't agree with throwing stuff from the upper decks, but at the time I was hoping it could cause enough of a disturbance to postpone the game or something. We should've just stormed the field and refused to leave!

I just hit myself with an empty plastic water bottle with maximal force and it felt like getting hit by paper. Also you must know as an item goes through the air, force acts upon it reducing the "damage" inflicted. If you get hit by a Frisbee from 1 inch away it kills, however from 40 yards it does not.

Aye.

Water bottles.

Was it of the 66% less plastic variety? Just curious

It may have been nuts, but they are lucky it wasn't much worse. I'd say 5/10 pple around me took it like grown ups. I honestly thought the field would get stormed. On another note, will UT accept another MCB bid? I think not. Good luck selling out your bowl game EVER again.

I only saw one group of fans get into but it was as they were walking by each other.
