We outgained Alabama by almost 100 yards....

It wasn't exactly a great performance, but I never thought we'd be able to throw it from the pocket as effectively as we did.

Wasn't a great performance? It was a fabulous performance against the best D in the country.

Yea we out gained them and IMO out played them, 3 missed FG killed us. Coming in to this game it was all about the big bad Tide's D and Ingram and we outplayed both. And friggin Pat Forde said Bama controlled the entire game, what an idiot!!

I think against the #1 defense in the country and considering our offensive woes with pretty much the same personnel last year, it was a great performance by the offense. I think Lane really out coached Saban (again, considering the personnel).

Amen. We pretty much dominated them in every aspect. The score shouldn't have been close, but that's what happens when you have a suspect special teams. The FG we made should have been a touchdown and the 3 misses would have put us up by 10 pts. The game wasn't even close--that just goes to show you how important execution and the kicking game is to a football team. Can't wait to get Michael Palardy on campus...kid has an NFL leg right now so we won't have to worry about it for the next 4 years hopefully.

There is a couple of bammers in my golf group, played this morning, i couldnt believe they actually admitted that the "Vols shoulda won the game". The moral victories are getting old, but im very proud of the effort, and pumped about the remaing games, Go Big Orange !

The 2nd half of the game was remarkable.

After the first half you would think Bama would take over the game with their depth. We actually looked like the fresher team in the 3rd/4th quarter.

Im still trying to figure out how we had 2 possesions that were 10 plus plays, and we did not score.

Hats off to you guys. Both Kiffins had a great game plan and executed them both almost flawlessly. I had said that BAMA would pull away in the 4th and they did not. Keep those guys pumped up and enthused and it will all come around. That was a great game regardless of what side you were cheeering for. The rest of the country wishes their programs would lay it on the line like that.

Congrats on the win.
Bama made the play when it counted. And our FG kicking unit did not (3 times). Plain and simple.

The 2nd half was ours, but we pissed it away with the kicking game!

UT was outplayed until the fourth quarter. The fourth quarter was simply amazing!

UT had more yardage at halftime as well. I don't believe bama got to the red zone but once the whole game. UT had good drives in both halfs.

I watched the game again today... and am not sure how anyone could say Bama outplayed UT for any part of that game except the two blocked FG's.

Great teams find ways to win when they have to. TN played a better game in my opinion but the tide still won the game and that's what matters. TN had to do the same thing in '98 to win the NC. I give them credit, they found a way to win the game and their NC hopes are still alive.

All things considered Bama has played 8 straight games...and Tennesse did have a bye week before that game...

But a win is a win..

i hear all the time,we had a week off and was rusty the first half and finally got it going the second half.so maybe that was our problem,if not for the week off we would have dominated the first half like we did the second half.you can allways make excuses.the truth is Tn won the battle on the field but lost the war on the scoreboard.
