We need to back Palardy making the squad

I don't like clay travis by any means, but not sure why we're trying to compare our paychecks to his. I'd wager owning your own website that gets bought by any of the major networks, and appearing on said networks quite often, pays pretty well.

We know it worked for Bill Simmons at least.

So Clay, you do have the cash to pony up? I don't.

Travis just said that he will never be a starting kicker on an NFL team. He did not specify place kicker as the position. He later argued that he didn't mean punter and that he only meant place kicker. But technically speaking both the punter and the place kicker are the Kickers. Because there is not a football position that is just called kicker. And technically speaking punting the ball is kicking the ball and by definition a punter is a kicker so I say either way he loses this. The other hosts called him out on this. But we all know Travis will try to wiggle out of it someway when Palardy is named a starter.

but for Travis to use this as a way to take a shot at Palardy is tasteless and classless because at the end of the day if he doesn't then needy people will suffer and Travis shouldn't use them as an example so to speak to make his stupid point

He's an ass who thrives on saying controversial things and shock value. About half the time he helps make the afternoon show because he can be entertaining. The other half he's unbearable to listen to and I just can't make myself suffer through his BS.

Yes, me having the belief that random people talking smack about a sports personality who has his own website, on an internet board no less, are full of crap must mean I am said sports personality.

Great observation, Mr. Holmes.

For many years. I like George but I listen primarily to 104.5 because they're more entertaining and informative IMO and because George and Willy and Darren spend 99.999% of their time talking about freakin hockey.

Generally speaking, don't you have to actually be involved in sports to be a sports personality? Clay is a personality, that's for sure. And anyone can start an internet site, it's done every day. Does not mean he is mega rich. He is a dill weed.

No doubt. But I normally like Travis but it rubbed me the wrong with with the whole charity vs Palardy thing. If he's gonna make big boy offers at least invite Palardy on to see if he will make a more legitimate friendly wager. Like hey Palardy if you are the starting kicker for an NFL team, I will donate $50,000 to a charity of you choice. If you become a starter then you donate $50,000 to my choice of charity (because if you actually do kick on a team you can actually afford it, and I can't) (so I secretly hope you do make the team and start).

Plaster will put you to sleep and I can't listen to hockey and braves talk for an entire show. Travis and his crew are at least funny and entertaining at times. I just think Travis got beat up a lot at high school. Well, he went to MLK, no one fights there. It's an all girls school. If he would've went to any other metro school he woulda stayed gettin popped on....

Good point on Travis. He's an elitist antagonist with a strong feminine side. If I hear one more hair commercial with him repeatedly telling David Reed how sexy he is I'm gonna go postal.

Thank goodness mike and mike are back on in Nashville to offer real sports talk as an alternative to the morning crew with Frank and them.

The least talented on 104.5 is Paul at the mid day. He offers horrible insight, has a horrible voice for radio. He tries to play Mr tough guy to make up for his no talent havin ass and something else he's over compensating for. If you know what I mean. Truth is about Paul is he couldn't ever make it up east where he wishes he was. Because he is a terrible journalist and awful radio personality. So he came to the only small market that will accept him and he hates them for it. He has **** for brains. He butchers the English language and is really just not a very smart person.

He made it in the north east (ESPN, Bristol CT) and they assigned him to cover the AFC South, and then directly the Tennessee Titans.

He then received a radio gig, on top of his ESPN work, due to his insight and knowledge of the game.

I'd say just about everything you wrote is horrifically incorrect.

This.

PK's voice is annoying, but he's right more times than he's not. I also like how he seems to have little patience with idiots.

As far as this bet, come on, you don't seriously think Clay Travis will ever pony up a dime do you? He most definitely won't if Palardy makes punter only, and I'm sure he'll find some loophole if Palardy starts a game as placekicker.

Travis succeeded in what he wanted, because you started a thread on it and got people talking. It's been said a million times, even by him, he has no interest in being a "sports journalist", he merely stirs the pot. This is the same moron who proclaimed on the radio last week that Bring it On is maybe the best comedy ever made, and at least top 5.

That is what he was told. Really they just brushed him off to a small market where he really doesn't matter. He has a horrible radio voice and he's a broken record. He's a punk too. Most radio personalities have neutral voices. His accent is worse than a southerns. He butchers the English language and constantly makes fun of everyone else's stupidity, when he is the stupidest one.
