We need a trophy game!!!

I hate explaining to people that Tennessee has some fierce rivalries. I feel we need a trophy game to bring more competiton and have something for us to look forward too. You look at every team in he SEC they have something to look forward too. We are a team with alot of Tradition but no Trophy game.

Alabama-Awbarn
Florida- Florida State & UGA
LSU-Arky
UGA-GT
Mizzou-KU
TAMU-UT (Fake)
Ole Miss-Miss St
Hell UK looks for Louisville every year

I am obviously having reading comp problems....could you explain a Trophy Game a little further?

tennessee's main problem is that their rivals have bigger rivals and there is no way a trophy can fix that.

unless vandy and kentucky decide to field good teams, it is what it is.

We used to play for (and always keep) the beer barrel. Best trophy in college football.

I don't like 'em, it's a gimmick. The best rivalries are fueled by pure hatred, not some stupid trophy.
They started using some stupid Okefenokee Oar for the UF/UGA game in 09...

The Iron Bowl is hardly a trophy game. The trophy doesn't even get handed out until basketball season. Can anyone name that trophy without looking it up?

we used to play ky for the beer barrel. the public's view on that took it away. we kept it a very long time, of course.

I would settle for beating up on the likes of Bama, UF, and UGA with some regularity. For opposing teams to dread to come to Knoxville to take their arse whoopin.

Michigan and Minnesota play for the little brown jug even though Ohio State v. Michigan is bigger and has no trophy associated with it. And Minnesota has another trophy game with Wisconsin (Paul Bunyon's axe) that is regarded as a bigger game.

Who gives a ratz azz if we have a trophy game or not. Maybe Florida and Tennessee should play for a jug of Vinegar and we can call it "good ole' bitter hate".

Would love to see the beer barrell . I think it is stupid they did away with it dang it's 2012 I mean come on it ain't the meth barrel award. At least we still got the cock fight it could be award lol :). :boom:
