I'm sure many will disagree with me but I think we need a staff comprised of former Vols. I want to see Tee Martin or David Cutcliffe back on our side line. I'm sick of watching these coaches who don't give a **** about our school run it in the ground. I also want to see us go back to more of a traditional style of play. I get so sick of watching the sissy ass spread where there is no fullback and we run every play from shotgun. Let's get back to a Tennessee staff with a traditional Tennessee offense. The last five years I feel like I'm watching ballet instead of football. Sorry for my rant but I want the old Tennessee back :banghead2:.

It's worked for Wisconsin. Their HC, OC and DC are all former Badgers. They understand the landscape, what it means to represent the state university. It can work at Tennessee as well, the Fulmer Era is proof.

Here's my opinion on who UT should be going after as a head coach.

-someone who understands alumni
-someone who knows what the expectations of the university is
-someone who will build up our boys and won't separate the locker room
-someone who knows how to win
-someone who they never should have let go

I've wanted this for years. We need a staff we can trace back to Neyland. Our issues started when we got away from that.

It does have to be a Tennessee staff and it doesn’t have to be rushed. Just take a few days, determine what options are actually available, and go from there. Stop panicking. Don’t sign anyone to an enormous deal. This won’t end well, but it doesn’t have to be something which guarantees failure for the next 10 years, either.

Agree! Give it to Fulmer. Let him hire all VFLs and lets ride!

:rock:At former coach Fulmer's age, why not select him to get this program back on track with Tee Martin as his OC...Fulmer could then help get a good permanent coach too. Obviously, Currie needs to be replaced too.

Amen.
Also replace the knuckleheads running the administration with some Tennessee folks.

I think Peyton needs to come as the QB coach. We need someone who recruits can look at and know that he can help them get to the next level. We have not had good QB play in years, except for what Dobbs brought to the table. Without a good QB, you can forget about winning the SEC, let alone a NC.

-Fulmer as AD, even if it’s interim.
-Cutcliffe as HC for 2-3 years
-Tee as OC and named coach in waiting.

This makes the most sense and would bring the most people together to try to move out of this gutter.

I am all in on Tee or Kiffin. Tee would recruit well and relate to players, yes I understand that it would be somewhat of a learning curve, but after yesterday we may have to be patient. Kiffin, I believe, would assemble a very good staff that would probably include some VFL's. If at all possible I would say that UT should go for both of them in some capacity.

Orange blood or bust on this hire. apathy will reach new heights otherwise.

Tee Martin is our best shot. He's 1-2 years away from being the big name in coaching searches and he brings a lot of upside to our chaotic situation right now.
