with Grice off the board, we are back at square one.

Hill is a FB and while Cross may be solid, he is in no way elite.

The staff needs to add a real SEC top tier RB to this roster if we are going to compete for championships.

Don't sleep on Lane, he's been improving every game. Once he gets over his skittishness over his knee he will be fine.

Tim Wright out of texas is a great back. IMO he is the 3rd best back in the state behind Jonathan Gray and Trey Williams. The only problem is he is a grade risk. but ive seen what LSU does to get people in, maybe you guys could take that strategy for him?

Cross has the same measurable's as T.Henry, let's not count him out yet.

Our OL should be very motivated to improve on all levels this coming off-season. If we don't have an effective running game next fall then we have some serious problems.

It doesn't matter how elite our RB is, our line can't keep the defense out of the back field.

I hate to say it, but I miss Hardesty and the Sullins twins.

According to rivals, he is planning on coming back to K-town!

I thought the same thing when I read the headline and started laughing. Turns out, they're referring to high school recruit Beniquez Brown.

Doesn't matter who we recruit at RB, they're not gonna be good till they get to the pro's. Smh. Sincerely, a depressed VOL fan......

Unless we get significantly better on both sides of the line, the most surefire RB out of high school in the history of football won't make a difference.

Players need time to develop. Not every freshman is Herschel Walker. The people that are saying that Lane isn't the answer after 5 games are probably the same ones already calling for Dooley's head. They're just impatient. Lane looks pretty good in my opinion. He still has a lot to learn and it takes time for freshman to get acclimated to the SEC, but he has the talent. And if our line can improve, and I know that's a big IF, there's no doubt in my mind that he can be a good if not great back for us.

The entire run blocking scheme needs an overhaul. Zone isn't cutting it and until a change is made I see no reason to expect a top teir running back to jump on board. At times it reminds me of pounding a square peg through a round hole.

Tell that to Ingram, Dyer, Lattimore, Crowell.....etc

Means absolutely nothing - 5'11", 200ish lb, 4.5 40 time RBs are a dime a dozen

Yeah just think when they all left the whole o_line and Hardesty and Crompton and Dooley has to rebuild all this. Our )-line has a little over a year together.
