So much doom and gloom, and let’s face it, we have a couple of years of tough football ahead no matter how this all shakes out. So, I figured I’d share three of my favorite plays in Vol history and encourage other to do the same.
We have a proud program. Let’s celebrate the highlights and hope for the best!!
1. Powell’s run against Miami. I guess BVS existed in 1986, because this was the first moment of that game I thought we would win. IMHO, this game marked the start of Tennessee’s return to relevance then.
Best clip I could find, run is at the 9:00 point
2. Bill Duff stuffs Eddie George. Nuff said. What a great game, and to stop George running behind Orlando Pace and that line was heroic. Duff is every Vol player we love for sheer damned grit, imho.
3. Tee Martin to Peerless Price. Damn. Still get goosebumps watching this play. The peak of Tennessee football. The moment captured in this perfect play. As an added bonus, the ABC outro music at 1:25 to the end matches the replay perfectly.
