We need a graduate transfer QB

Sure, let's start a QB controversy from the get go...

or, now that he has an actual coach, plus now that the younger guys have had some time to develop, maybe we have more there than you might realize. What we don't need is another running back playing quarterback who can't throw more than 20 yards down field.

If this team wants to get into the East race, we need Hurts or Kendall. JG, while tough, is not the QB to take us to the next level.
I'm going to say no.. We need the spot for other positions and we weren't going to make it to the "next level" this year no matter who the QB is IMO...

I offer this point. Graduate transfers can help immediately or they can suck. It can be like putting a bandaid on a bullet wound.

I want to build a program here where we developed talent. I’m not so sure the fan base will wait on that though.

So you think a team that got drubbed by Vandy and Missouri is just a grad transfer QB away from being on the next level??? If so, then you don't really know football.
Part of the reason we got drubbed by Mizzou and Vandy was because of anemic offensive production early in the game. When JG was at QB against Mizzou, we didn't get a first down. QB is the most important position. A QB with a hint of mobility can mask a bad OL. JG is very accurate in the pocket. His accuracy drops significantly when moving. I think our defense will take a large step forward with the young talent joining. The OL as well

You mean the whole two drives when he only threw one pass before the line whiffed and got him hurt? Pretty small sample size of one healthy drop back. šŸ˜ž

The reason we got drubbed is players and coaches who had checked out already.

Okay, so JG our QB in 2017 & 2018. Grad our QB in 2019, JG our QB in 2020. Then JG graduates and someone else QB in 2021?

No, you would hopefully have Mauer, Shrout or Bailey ready by then. If we get a solid grad transfer in, JG will grad transfer out.

At 7/11, I hear rumor of some guy working toward his masters who might be relocating to K-town next week.

His name is Halen Jurts....or some such.

Couldn't hear exactly because of the Slushie machine noise.

While I think JG is hot garbage as a QB, we don’t need to waste a scholarship and a roster spot on a one year QB. Let one of the young guys sling it. We aren’t competing for the East this year anyway.
