The longer this drags out the more I think MH is going after a College coach. He doesnt have to wait to talk to NFL coaches. Not saying he isnt looking at NFL guys but they may very well be lower on the list. My hope is that the guy wearing baby blue switches to BIG ORANGE next year.

No, but if we were going after someone like Gruden, I can't think of a good time to announce a hire like that. Hamilton said next 5 weeks, so I would assume a college coach is more realistic.

After the season like when hires of active head coaches are usually announced?

No one knows this. Besides, the longer it drags out the more likely a pro guy is hired.

My title is not what I meant to say. My point is the longer this takes the more I suspect a college coach. I stand by that thought. Not only college coaches but perhaps the top.

Did you expect him to pack up and leave in the middle of the season?

It would make life easier on us if he would. Butch if you're reading this listen up coach. Go ahead and pack your stuff. I know, I know ESPN and the folks in NC will call you names but once you get here and get things going your way MANY will call you names anyway. So come on over to the good side of the Smokies.
