My grandfather of 70+ years, and a Vol fan since 1954, has passed away. We lost a great fan, someone who has been around since the Harvey Robinson era. That's a really long time for those who don't know who he is. Heck, he even remembered the 1958 Chattanooga loss and talks about how much he loved watching Johnny Majors play football. The irony is he called me last week asking about the recruiting class, and said he couldn't wait to see "that Richardson kid" play. Volnation, we lost a good one today. Appreciate the ones you love and never take time with them for granted.

Go Vols!!! :hi:

Coming from someone who has lost all four grandparents and both parents, I can honestly say there are no truer words ever spoken. We hear them over and over throughout our lives and nod our heads in agreement while we are taking these people for granted. I used to love listening to my grandfather wax on about the Vols of yesteryear when he was still alive. Sorry for your loss our fellow member of VolNation.

My heart goes out to you. I lost my Father to cancer last March and he and I were very close. Like your Grandfather, my Father too was a big Vol fan. We used to talk constantly about the Vols and I miss that SOOO much!

If you don't mind me asking, how did he pass away?

Thank you for your condolances volnation.

It's going to be weird that first game with him not being here. He has every non PPV Volunteer game on tape/DVD since 1996.
