IF we come out and sleepwalk through the first half like we've done in EVERY game this year we will lose. Every Saturday this season I've waited for the Vols to make changes and adjustments and actually start playing in the first half and they've yet to show me they are capable of doing that. All signs point to that NOT changing this weekend or the next.

I'm very excited that we're undefeated so far but we have a serious and persistent issue and it's going to catch up with us. I'm not a negavol, I'm just pissed that our coaching staff has done nothing to address this issue.

Can't win a game in the 1st half. We could have a slow start and still win. It's about getting the stops we need on defense and getting the points we need from our offense.
The defense my help again on the points part.

Slow start or not Vols got this.

I'm hoping that being road dogs gets both players and coaches on edge. They seem to play better that way two years running

If the offense can avoid dropping passes and fumbles in the fist half then both games are winnable.

The starts against UF and UGA were more due to mistakes than game plan. No idea what the op is looking for

Agreed. Especially offensively. Defensively we've made more adjustments...

IF TN loses both and IF Florida goes 6-1 IF they don't re-schedule the LSU game, Florida will win the SEC East.

See how all of the ifs work?

I am really over this whole first half narrative..

You win games by having more points then the other team when the game is over..

As long as that happens they can sleepwalk through 3.99 quarters for all I give a shart...

Last year it was all..no more moral victories..JUST WIN!

Ok they are winning...now STFU..Just sayin

I agree with you for the most part of this. We could linger and still win the game.

As far as the Coaching Staff doing nothing, I don't agree. I will be willing to bet that they have scripted every game and have probably made change after change from game to game.

War Gaming. Coaches do not sit around and wait for Acorns to hit them on the head. They have changed eating times, sleep times, rehearsals, warm up drills and the list goes on and on.

I use to run 2 miles before tennis matches in order to avoid losing the first set. It worked conditioning can be funny like that.

I think the worse thing we have done this year was going soft contact in practices before the season started. This team seems very passive aggressive and once we taste our own blood a different level kicks into gear.

I could care less if Josh Dobbs throws 15 interceptions in the 1st half as long as Tennessee has a point more than the other team when the clock strikes 0.

And OP, I understand the frustrations of watching a slow start but I wouldn't put it all on the coaches.

And all because of a hurricane ! That would just our damn bad luck. But the Vols can control their destiny with a split in the next two games. Fla, LSU , and the SEC have know the storm was coming for ten days......
Best wishes to our fellow americans in the path of this terrible storm.
