We just won the game we've lost twice this year

People saying that coaching nearly lost this game blows my mind. Dobb's fumble, AK's fumble and Malone not making the catch on a perfect pass is what nearly lost this game. That is called execution not coaching. I wasn't thrilled with our play either but we won the game and bottom line, that's all that matters.

Bray is leagues ahead of Dobbs when it comes to passing ability. Our WR are probably a wash when healthy, with north being banged up I'd say Dools had the better group.

Bray was a better passer but Dobbs ability to run and his leadership makes him all around a better qb.

I am not unhappy about winning. By any means.

I ain't ****ing happy about letting this excuse for a team(the one that convinced spurrier to retire) almost beat us.

Vandy almost beat Florida, SC almost beat A&M, Arkansas beat Mississippi, Bama stomped LSU who beat Florida and we almost beat Alabama away... Ole Miss lost to Memphis who just goat destroyed by Navy... Anything can happen. It's about the W... So no need for a disclaimer to what otherwise started off as a positive post!

We once again blew a 17 point lead. This time to an absolutely horrible team. So horrible their coach quite a few games ago. They fumbled at the 15 yard line to end the game...and you think we got over a hump? Wow. This coaching staff is horrible. Why a lot of fans don't see it I have no idea

I love you rickybobbys. No pleasing you guys.

Because a large majority of our fanbase wants Butch to be "the guy" so badly they overlook all the glaring faults. He spouts off enough rah rah crap to keep them eating out of the palm of his hand. His ineptitude will creep up at some point so badly not even the biggest coach worshippers will be able to defend it.
WOW! I guess Bama should fire their coach for only beating us by 5 points, or OK should fire their coach for only beating us in OT. Listen to yourself. Fuss when we lose, fuss when we win. It's unbelievable! SC is not a D2 team ya know? Beat UNC 8-1 and gave TAMU all they could handle. WE WON! On the other side of things you look like someone that wants the coaching staff to fail as much as we want them to succeed! Which side would you rather be on? DUMB!!!

Well if you're basing that off record alone...there're very much in the same class. Isn't it ironic that one of dooleys only good wins came against Butch.
Same category my man

Three SEC WINS so far this season and two in a row for the first time in several years. These coaches still have things to learn but are way better than Dooley ever was.

Yes, yes, he clearly has a resume equal to Nick Saban and Bob Stoops.

And, beating SC who beat NC, who are 8-1, as well as morally beating aTm, clearly erases every loss this season making the team morally undefeated and well on the way to a moral natty title.

Excellent use of logic.

I missed the part where bama and LSU's coaches were so bone headed tried to run a hurry up offense for most of four quarters when they lacked depth on defense. How does it help to run them out as quickly as possible when you don't have depth or conditioning? I guess taking stock of what you have and adjusting your system to fit is not part of the 6-7 year program.

I am not sure what you are talking about . The up tempo scheme has been adjusted to fit the personnel. They are running a grab and snatch version of up tempo rather than the constant hurry up that is run at Oregon . They catch a personnel grouping on D that is favorable and go up tempo at that point , not letting them off the field . For instance they caught Bama in run heavy and went up tempo passing the ball play after play for a TD . Then they were normal tempo again . Tonight they had 27 min of possession and ran about 75 plays . Nothing really up tempo about that . If you ever wonder how an 'up tempo' team can have a 7 minute drive...now you know

Did anyone else notice what happened on the play where SC scored a TD on 4th and goal? I was at the game and the guy covering that wide receiver shifted to the other side of the defense before the snap and left that SC receiver wide open to catch the TD pass. Why in the h### didn't somebody pick that guy up? That was one of the biggest defensive brain farts I have seen in a long time.

So you were only referring to tonight's game?

I knew before the season started that our defense would fade late in games . I also knew that they would fade against larger more physical offensive lines ...and knew this before the season started . I have access to this mysterious document that many do not know about . Its called a depth chart .

With freshmen interior tackles and limited depth in the interior and youthful MLB play ...I expected nothing less.

I am not sure why teams like Bama and LSU waste their time with a three deep at DT and defense platooning ....they should just tap the 'x' button faster during the summer conditioning ..right ? Poor Butch not only did not tap the X button fast enough ....he does have the personnel for a 3 deep or a platoon .

My mistake.

This was one of the more slowly paced games of the season. There was little or maybe none of the "panic mode" speed like we saw earlier in the season following scores by Oklahoma and Florida that resulted in sending a winded, thin defense back out on the field. That is a good thing. The basic problem with your statement is that Lyle himself calls it "up tempo" quite frequently. He has also alluded to wanting the ball snapped with 20 seconds left on the play clock in the past under normal situations. He seems to have somewhat wisely abandoned this goal over the course of the season, but I doubt you could get him to admit. Nevertheless, his preferred pace is plenty up tempo for a thin defense against quality opponents.

One more thing; you haven't seen a depth chart. If you were a true VFL, you'd know coach doesn't believe in such. He has an organizational chart. You obviously need more chart focus.:)

That's cool and all. If it didn't happen, we were giving up the touchdown. I'm sick of watching what appears to be a damn good defense go into '**** your pants' mode whenever things get tight.

I'm sick of seeing all the griping that comes after a close game by people who have never coached, and never will coach, a game at this level their entire life.

We won the game.Get over it.We lost three games like this early this season, this time we did not.Doesn't matter this time of year, just win, baby!GBO

The last 4 times these two teams have met the game has been decided by 3 points of less. Some games you win big, some you win ugly, but SC came to win. They were chippy as hell. Those of you whining about poor coaching are the same whiners that pitched a fit with the Debord hire. Get over it. IMO field conditions slowed our offense enough to equalize the game. And don't even bother retorting that SC played on the same field with the same conditions. A slow field will neuter a fast paced, hard cut offense. Good game boy's, another SEC win for team 119.
