We just hired another coach who has proved nothing.

Look at it this way...if it doesn't work out he can bring in talent for the next guy(s).

He may be a good recruiter. But just because he was a linebackers coach for a team who had amazing talent doesn't mean he'll be a good defensive coordinator here.

Yeah we probably should have gone after and hired Dick LeBeau...Dooley must be a lost cause

What did Muschamp prove as a HC prior to Florida hiring him?

That he can yell the most and underachieve with tons of talent?

Like all things in Knoxville right now. We will wait and see. DD has gotten his second wind, now let see how far he can run.

A day in the life of a Negavol " Jesus was a terrible hire, he has done nothing on the defensive side, just developed Tim Tebow.. Moses actually coached the linebackers and Noah did the recruiting.. Jesus was a terrible hire."

Thats what it seems like I read every day on here. At some point Saban wasn't proven. Just be happy with who we have. It could always be worse.

Clearly the name of the game is recruiting now. They're trying to bring in talent, talent, talent.

I agree.. and now DD has hired another proven top recruiter (2011 national recruiter of the year btw) to go with LT and our new OL coach who just happens to be a top 25 recruiter and ACC recruiter of the year.. :dance2:

People need to stop *****ing and move on.. I think these are good hires especially considering the situation.

Whether or not Dooley stays at UT for a long time - I thank him for causing an exercise in my ignore button feature.

/Why all the negativity op? Do you feel like you are more qualified to make the hires than the head coach/AD? If so, you should go put in your application but since you seem so smug in your arrogance you should quit whatever job you now have before you let them know you are available .

This is a solid hire given the circumstances. He has a progressive track record, and has excelled at his duties. Dooley and Hart did a solid job on this hire. It does appear that this ship is turning around. It also appears we have upgraded our coaching staff.

John Chavis was a position coach first. Kirby Smart was too. Muschamp too. Monte Kiffin too. Everyone that is a DC now was a position coach first. DDDEEERRRPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:finger3::finger3::finger3::finger3::finger3::finger3::finger3::finger3::finger3::finger3::finger3:

True. If his qualifications for the job ended there, you'd be right. He has worked with Saban for three years now and been given the title of Asst HC for Defense. Prior to that, he worked for John Fox at Carolina... a 4-3 D guru on par with Monte Kiffin.

He has served a couple of times as DC at smaller schools.

His pedigree is right. He was going to get a shot somewhere as DC soon. Bama fans apparently thought of him as the heir apparent to Smart once he left for an HC job.

Overall, I am pretty happy with the hire. Only a few names have been run out that I would have been real disappointed with.
