my chief worry about butch is that if he keeps the vols headed in the direction he's got them going is that somebody like Michigan comes calling.

Gotta disagree with you bud. The team is much improved from last year and he's gotten another top five recruiting class coming in next year. He's seat isn't even mildly warm at this point.

Ya know, I have no idea what is going on in Butch's head but Michigan is in a far worse place than even we were when he took over. They are getting beat up in the Big 10. I don't think he wants to do the whole rebuilding thing all over again.

I see Butch as a coach that one day wants a street on campus named after him. Not one that uses Tenn as a stepping stone.

Live with the heartbreaks early and reap the return of greatness.. We are on the cusp with all the freshmen.. Imagine when all this talent builds up,because we are close i see it.. If Worley doesn't go down we win that game..I think it's gonna take some time but our vols are clearly improving in so many areas.. I think butch is definitely our guy

Good lord. Let's just continue to hire and fire. It has worked wonders for us so far. I wish people would quit saying our season is hinged on beating UF. That is one game. If we lose to UF it's just a loss like any other.

dumb thread is dumb. we are a young team that can't make some of the mistakes we made today and win. but, we are very close to where we need to be. we have a new oline and dline, plus we are playing quite a few freshmen.

how many teams could go into ga. and play the dogs as close as we played them today? Clemson couldn't beat them at a neutral site and that team has had the same coaches for a while.

we are going to get there. TN. played a heck of a game today and I believe there is only one more team that can beat us. I was saying 6-6 but I'm truly believing 8-4 is where we will finish.

GO BIG ORANGE!!!!!!!

You don't get Butch without Bajakian. Best staff in the country and whatnot.

I think the read option/power spread/ whatever the eff you want to call it does not fit the talent they have in house currently.

The offensive line does not have the talent to even hold their zones much less blow anyone off the ball. The only QB with any legitimate running ability can't make it past 3rd string.

It's obvious they would rather run out of QB's than change it though.

So..... best I am hoping for is that the offense can stop directly spotting the opponents 7 points a game with turnovers and our only quarterback doesn't end up seriously injured.

Also, showing up after half time and producing something on offense besides punts and turnovers for a quarter would be refreshing. Adjustments are slow to come.

CBJ is fine this season and you can't put him on the hot seat this season.

I saw 2 bad play calls all game. That's pretty good in my book. Then again if they worked I would have said great call. I think you can harp on any off coordinator when it doesn't work. We have talent but we are still not equal with most of the sec. The coach and players are both doing a great job imo and we need to stay behind them.

OP, Butch is not going to be on the hot seat at all. He is building this team up the right way, from the bottom up and brick by brick. Patience is a virtue and the team is already showing hard work and improvement, faster than I would have thought possible. Give these young men and the coaches a break, they are doing a fantastic job. They need raises for their hard work and recruiting of quality kids. Butch and his staff are what this program needed and we are very fortunate to have them.

I agree that we should beat Florida, but I disagree that Coach Butch would be on the "hot seat" if we lose. We're young and the O line is weak. Coach Butch is doing a heck of a job on all levels. Be patient.

Butch is not going anywhere, anytime soon regardless if they beat Florida or not.
