ESPN wont renew Gruden at the end of his contract (he makes too much and they are hemorrhaging customers). But thats still 3-4 years down the road...

Cutcliffe will retire from Duke.......as he has stated not a ton of pressure at Duke. If he wins some, everyone seems happy, if he beats some rivals everyone is happy, if he makes a bowl everyone is happy (if he just wins a few he keeps his job).

Let me splain this. Gruden took a team built by Dungy and defeated the team that he had coached the year before to win a super bowl. Not much of an accomplishment IMO. Can you add any additional accomplishments on his behalf ? Just a name like Kiffen.

Just to be clear: you are trying to argue that winning a super bowl is "not much of an accomplishment". Even still, if the previous coach gets the credit for the team Gruden was coaching, Gruden should get the credit for the team he was the previous coach of.
