We have found our coach

My big concern everyone talking about give CJH a raise as they should but don’t see hardly anyone talk about all the other coaches who should get serious raises.

Some of these kids and groups have made serious improvements and there is some other coaches that need love. Anyone remember talking about terrible OL and DL play, seems vastly improved this year.

Pay all the coaches who deserve a raise. CJH doesn’t do it alone. I bet Rodney wants to retire here….

I can almost categorically bet the house on it that every coach will be getting some major love at the end of the season. That said, I am guessing we wait to see how the season turns out since I mean, we are still in the running for the NC! They will certainly work a new contract for Heupel and probably several of the other staff. Key thing is to give CJH the cash to be happy here while handcuffing him against leaving or getting poached.

Whatever anyone thought of this coaching hire 18 months ago, it doesnt matter now. CJH has got to be one hell of a coach for the future of TN.

For him to take the WORST team in all of UT's history (W/L wise) with an active NCAA investigation and turn them into a team that is 6-0 right now and if there is any justice would be ranked #1 tomorrow is beyond storybook.

I mean we were basically team from The Replacements

For this team to do what they have done, with the close games - pulling each one out, even when it looked like it was OVER, TIME AND TIME AGAIN. I mean you have to build HEART in a team.

Sure, we have Hooker - but the reason Hooker is in the running for the Heisman right now is because Heupel coached him to become what he now is. I is RAL COACHING AND LEADERSHIP that has made the difference.

Is the uptempo offense we run just a gimmick? Maybe you could say that last year but not when teams KNOW it is coming and STILL can't do anything about it. We just hung more points on Nick Saban's toothless bubbas than anyone since 1907. A frikken HUNDRED YEARS. Let that sink in a minute. And without our #1 receiver! And beat them in spite of going against a Heisman winning QB, who looked like Nick had been feeding him roids and resting him for this very game.

Nothing fluke about winning against 4 ranked teams out of 6 games and one as undefeated #3. This is not the 5-0 start and then flame out of years gone by.

No, no matter what happens the rest of the season, this is definitely something more than luck. There are still tough teams ahead, Georgia will be a hard nut to crack but you know that the chill of fear going down their spine will be real. We can't sleep on KY or anyone else either and throw away a game.

Yet whether or not we take the throne this year, know that we are witnessing the birth of a new dynasty. The creation of a legend. We are not yet who we will become with another year or so of recruiting, with well coached talent stacked so deep that when one goes down or onward, an even more ferocious competitor rises in their place. When teams like Wildcats fawn over us like kittens, the middle tier scurries like children to hide under their bed covers and even the doughty quail with fear at the mention of Tennessee. When entering Neyland's inferno causes even the mighty to abandon all hope.

So remember this moment, that you witnessed it. To tell your children and theirs that you were here to see its beginning and to watch the glories that are yet to come. To take our rightful place again on top of mount Olympus as King of the CFB Mountain.

VOLNATION WE RISE!
Normally a post this long I'd ignore, but you are such a wordsmith.......thanks for putting into words my thoughts

The pre-snap motion from Tennessee's back and WR's really seemed to confuse Alabama's secondary at times. On the Hyatt TD which made the score 14-7, that Bama safety had no clue what his assignment was until it was too late. This is the first time that I think we've had a coach who can beat teams with superior talent. Heupel is like a humble version of Steve Spurrier from the early 90's.
Huep is a "little Stevie" and I wish him just much continued success at Tennessee. Our boys are being coached up.

I hate to kick a program when it's down (well depends on the program), but how do you think Nebraksa fans feel right now? They are also a top level program that started to skid in the 2000s and have been going through coaches looking for the right one.

They finally feel like they found him, Frost who just went undefeated at UCF and was the hottest name out there and just happened to be a favorite son. It was as perfect a home run hire as it could get and it crashed and burned quickly. Then they turn around and look at us, in the same boat and we get the guy that replaced Frost at UCF and most thought was a downgrade.

And here we are. If I'm a Nebraska fan right now, all you can do is shake your head and laugh.
