Last year may have been a fluke for Fl state. What happened to them the year before? We all thought they were gonna be awful because of last year, maybe they are back to their former selves... much as i dislike Fl state. When they are good.... it's good for CFB.
They're 35 points better than Syracuse?

Funny how he was throwing high early on, but then started bringing his throws down. This is a kid who is learning and working on his techniques. I'm hoping Matthews gets a little better with the hands as the year goes along.
That was the thing that impressed me the MOST about JA today...when he would throw high or miss a guy in a route, etc. at the end of the series he was seeking out a coach to look at what he needed to try to fix.

As far as.Matthews, I think he settles down the next game or two, but I really hope he isn't the next version of "stone hands" Keyton.

We’ve all heard about him not having offers out of HS. The idea of becoming a firefighter. A pure hearted kid it seems.
As well as a QB with a live arm. He’s faster than people realize and his release is very quick.

He would have thrown for 300 yards if not for so many drops. Some of that was him being a bit off target but he was on target much more.

I will be watching Nico tonight to see how he does. And as crazy as it seems…we need to thank Nico for leaving. Aguilar is a better QB.

It’s still early. It’s just game one. But this new offense paired with Aguilar is a beautiful thing and I don’t see Nico or Arch, or Ty Simpson running our offense the way he did today.

This kid is supposed to be balling at UCLA.
Instead he’s brought something very special to Knoxville. This is going to be fun season!
Aguilar will be great. He is better than Nico and it's not close. Our receivers on the other hand, except for Staley have me nervous.

QB not going to be an issue this year.

Receivers need to put on some stick’um or work on their focus.

Defense was without many pieces today and still managed against (I think) a quality foe.

We gonna be a team to be reckoned with
I dunno man. Half those incomplete were pretty high. And the receivers were jumping and still going off their fingertips. I agree, some of those passes should have been caught when they hit you in the hands, but a couple were thrown behind the wr. Much harder to catch

I agree with you, but Joey just played the most important game of his life, I’m sure he was amped/nervous, those throws happen to all QBs. But when a ball hits your hands as a receiver, you need to haul it in. Either way, we gonna be ok.
