We have a good team.

Yes, you are right, SEC defenses much better than Sun Belt ones. Equally true is that Nussmeier was operating with an SEC OL, WRs, and TE, all way different from what surrounded Aguillar last year. 🤷

Just love seeing how good they look 1s, 2s, 3s don’t matter just have really impressive strength and conditioning. Can’t believe Sanders 270-300+ looks huge and J. heard. I love the way the Oline is looking physically. I think a key ingredient this year will be LBs. Spillman, Carter, Telander all look great and supposedly playing great.

Really hope to see an alpha WR or two step up and make the Offense go vroom. I think Aguilar or Merk will succeed if the WR room shapes up from last year and scheme is truly innovated. They should have plenty of time most plays from how deep Oline looks to be.

We've had a good team every year since 2022. Will this team be elite is the question IMO. Plenty of young, unproven talent. I think they're probably a year or so away from that, but maybe they can catch fire and go on a run.

I’m critical of Heupel and how loyal he is to his staff. But you got to give the man credit. He’s legitimately made Tennessee a stable and excitable program again.

Look at every position and you will find a blue chip there or 3.

- WR room is young but looking at them run around I thought I was watching Florida State of the late 1990s. They’ll definitely be that next season with the addition of Bey and King.

- Who ā€œcouldā€ feel in for Carter? Not one guy but we have players that can play STAR (Beasley, Redmond, Mcmurray, Merrit?) Punt Returner (Matthews, Morris,)

Not going to go down the whole roster, but imo
Aguilar can be a caretaker and out talent is still going to get is us to 9 wins. If Aguilar shines then we’re playing in Atlanta against Arch Manning and Texas.

Not sad about Nico. Not sad about Boo if he leaves. We’ve got a whole season to look forward to with a bunch of talented players!
I like our team as well. Been burnt many times by fully stocked and proven returning WR corp, only to watch under performance and dropped balls. This crew is young, but they only need to do what every other corp needed to do, help the QB by catching the balls they should catch. If that happens, RB's hold onto the ball, and special teams play is solid, this is a very good team.

I expect Bishop to start, but think Lewis and Thomas will get several carries a game as well. I think RBs will carry a lot of the load again this year. How are things looking for Cam and VT?
I believe Lewis to start and Bishop tone second. We have 4 RBs who will see action in the first game. Our running game will make surpassing game very dangerous.

Aguilar has a very cool story.
And I think it’s awesome he’s getting 1 million this year in NIL. After all the hard work he’s put in.

Love the run game with Bishop, Lewis and Star Thomas.

Everyone is worried about Brazzell and I think Matthews is the guy about to break it wide open in college football this season.

Agreed! And I think Travis Smith may end up a FR All American. He will play early and often. I love his and Jackson's game.

If all I have read about Boo, he needs to be cut off the team, if all is true. he will cause problems later during the season if he plays

Idk man, the Vols are replacing practically the entire offense. Four new names on the OL alone means we should be very happy with 8-4.
Most of our offense was the run game, and even though Samson was very good, we have some that can be just as good or even better. If we get just average qb play we will be good. I believe we will have better qb play this year than last year.

Peter Warrick (Carter)
Laverneous Coles (Matthews)
Reggie Durden ( Staley)
EG Green (Jackson)
Snoop Minnis (Brazzell)
Ron Dugans ( Smith)

Specifically this crew was the one I’m referring too.

And yes, from purely an athletic standpoint they do seem similar. Yes.

That’s why it’s crazy that Nico’s dad was screaming for help with these WRs and Brame and Davis at TE.

Vols don't have proven playmakers on either side of the ball. There is no one that opposing teams have to scheme for nor are there any proven home run hitters who can make a big play and/or score from anywhere on the field. It's a solid team that could win as many as 9 games but most of the games will be close so getting there could be a struggle.

Will Matthews be around? I'm sure he is letting his resume "marinate" out there somewhere.

Sorry. I just don't like the kid. I hope he catches a hundred TD passes, but I won't lose any sleep when he leaves in the spring.
